Gmap...

Does anyone know what the new .gmap files are or whatever? I saw that they are use for the new underground dungeons and was just wondering if they're anything special or if we can use them or something. Just any info about them someone, plz.

They're used for 3d terrain... same format g2k2 uses

I used to have the Generator for it! it was classed as Illegal so i deleted it like 2hours later.

A gmap is basically a list of heights, it tells the client/server what the z (height) of something is....

It could always be done with the exe you had as far as I know, I knew how to make 3d terrain levels since a month or so after Graal2002 was released. I won't say how, and it's not any sort of generator or more tools then you have either.

Couldn't you press alt+5 and look at one of the g2k2 levels yourself? I dunno personally if you can because i'm at school and i do not have graal on here. But then again, i dunno if that would work because it only saves the level and not any of the npcs if any...hrm....

Gmaps are also used for 2d maps, its the new type of map which replaces the old map.txts and level borders are not so important for npcs. If you check g2k1maze1.gmap then you will see it's a very simple format if its used for 2d maps :)

I believe it just generates the levels due to a random seed, correct?
