Image Preloading
On this issue, I find that I cannot create/move/rename/correct/change an image once Graal has opened, making me have to restart to see any images put in the graal folder during that time. Also, it works the same way with midis, sfx, maps, and, to an extent, levels. Why does Graal do this? (Two bugs per minute, yipee!)

Loads images into memory and only checks the server for updates once per graal opening it would be pointless if you downloaded the file or checked its time of upload EVERYTIME you moved or accessed that image.

Nonono...
I was talking about offline. In the Engine, it takes restarting Graal for Graal to find an image placed in it's directory. As it currently works, I cannot, say, script an NPC to require a graphic, minimize Graal and create that graphic with imaging software, and then test the configuration of the NPC using the graphic, in one Graal session. The engine should be able to check for new files every time it cannot find one instead.

It's for speedup. When Graal starts it scans the subfolders and makes a list of all available files, and when it needs one it already knows the location and can it load quickly.
Only ganis can be updated at runtime, Graal checks in offline mode if a gani has been changed, might be good to add that for graphics too. |
yes even though it might lag that is really needed

With the new #D command, if you are having trouble downloading certain files you can do #D on playeronline
