Known Voice Chat bugs

Post all Voice chat bugs here...
here are a few me and Konidias discovered:

When two people are talking, one gets cut out..It doesn't do that on other games such as Counterstrike..Its like a phone, they can both talk at once.

When someone is using voice chat, and someone uses an instrument at the same time, it gives a Bad compression Error

JudgeDurst 05-02-2002 03:37 AM

I cannot hear or transmit voice messages.

I have a microphone (that works with everything else that uses mic) and also the microphone test in the options works fine... i dont know what da hell is going on but i'm sure someone else must have this problem :(

I figured it out i'm such a fool i had dont use UDP packages on >.<

Do you have UDP?

Two-way chatting works good, may be there were too many people in the room?

When you're typing a message.. if you press the key the microphone is set to (IE: T) it will still go into the voice mode while your typing

Every time I boot up Graal, my WAV volume goes to 100%. This wouldn't be so bad - except I have all the sliders at the minimum level normally, so when one jumps it blows out my eardrums. =_=

I can fix that...simply change the button it uses to something like END (like I have it set) since that button is barely used on Graal
and for Tyhm, I get the same problem...I simply pour lighter fluid on my speakers and ignite..

I have talked to many people who have experienced their Graal freezing, then auto closing, either that or they get an illegal operation and it shuts down on them

Juron Pilo 05-02-2002 02:20 PM

yeah when I try to click microphone enabled it tells me: "Could not initialize Microphone" which, being the standard "you don't have a mic" message when I do have one, means more likely the problem is with good ol' gates and his bloody Windows 98 OS(you think I'm stupid enough to get anything higher than that?!)

Yeah I know, I do that.. but when you reopen graal it changes back to T :(

And there isn't a Mute All Voice button....? You can adjust the slider to 0 I guess...but you still gotta recieve...

No, because... XP is a... far superior operating system? I don't see your logic.

Same here. :|

When you change the voice volume to 0 then the other clients are informed about that you mute all.

Normally the volume of the wav output of the computer is not changed, only possibly the midi volume when midivolume>0.

RAM is dirt cheap now.

I hate RAM hogs :D

bumbo 05-04-2002 03:02 AM

OK, I reduce my volume completely but is there a way to disable all volume in graal? This is terribly annoying, I like listening to Mp3's whil playing and well this ain't cool

Look in your options. You can disable the sound there.

Erm... XP may be a RAM Hog, but it does handle your RAM far superior then any previous incarnations of Windows does. So you only gain from it.

Juron Pilo 05-05-2002 05:32 AM

the newer the version the worse it gets... I'm planning on staying 1 or 2 versions back... always

That just doesn't make sense. If it gets worse as time goes by then why ever upgrade? And you think 98 is better than XP? Have you ever used XP? It's an incredible improvement in stability, functionality, speed etc. It just needs a little more fuel to manage this standard.
