Tell me exactly what the stuff at the left of our posts are for?

I know it's rpg related, but why the need for it and does it actually rise and all that?

Hopefully now that Unix has added some RPGish stuff he'll make the RP thread that everyones wanted for so long.

If I was Unix and I had this vBulliten fourm I would try all the commands just to see what they do.
And if it breaks something put it back to whatever it originally was at.
