Stefan and/or Anyone else.

I need to know where i can lease rack space for oc64 and oc32 lines. My mom is going to invest 200k to start a game hosting company and we need all the information we can get. The reason why this subject is addressed to stefan is because i know he is familiar with server leasing and i was hoping he could what.

We are going to host gaming servers for really affordable prices.
I was wondering if any one fluent in this area could icq me @69998192. If you need to call just icq me first and we will exchange numbers.

I am trying to get this business going in 2 months, so any webdesigners out there also icq me.

Got any ideas for names?

Also i prefer these racks were located in NYC so i could visit them ;) Im also looking for DUAL PROCESSORs / 3 gigs of ram.

We will host counter-strike servers and other online multiplayer games such as graal for a reasonable price. We will also BEAT ANY PRICE if it follows the set of guidlines (same specs, same speed, unlimited bandwidth) etc.

Woo do I get a free copy of Half-Life and CS? :( I don't have either one of them... I'll help as much as I can. I know gamescript so I can make weapons and such... Even though I've never played Half-Life :)

I may be able to help you get some space to hold the servers on...

How would you make profit if your prices got so low that you were coming out even? Big hosting companies can spend millions in advertising and work deals with companies to get the cheapest hosting costs you have ever seen. The current game hosting companies have their prices at that level for a reason.

I never understood that company promise "We will beat the competitors price" I don't think that can be done effectively.

Andor_Admin1 02-14-2002 10:06 AM

Sometimes it is a good business practice to beat the competitor's prices, as the competitors lose customers that you then gain.

Say CompanyA has a price of a game at 10 bucks a month.
CompanyB has it at 8 dollars a month.

If people playing with A see B's prices, B will get more customers and then be making more than CompanyA.

Ultima_P2P 02-14-2002 12:04 PM

What happens if people are to lazy to change from company A?

And if Company B spends 7 dollars a month on maintaining it's server then you're not making a good profit

That is... sarcasm, right?

"Hello! I am selling donuts for one cent apiece, they are cheaper than my rival's so I will make lots of money!"

Yeah, it sometimes works, but you can't just declare it as a rule of business.

well, it's kinda half and half.

There is truth in what Neonight said, but not all of it. Because, if you sold them for cheaper than your rival, you would get more money, but only if you sold more.

Oh, and donuts again? ;)

Yeah. Only he was stating it as an absolute rule.
