Graal 2K1 and Graal 2K2

This is something I feel I should voice my opinion on, surronding such things as the go karts on Graal 2002, read if you want, don't read if you don't want, don't hold me responsible in any way if you disagree with my opinion.

Graal2K1 (Graal2001) was at first going to be all roleplaying from what I hear, I don't really know because I don't play there, I play on Classic and Sanstrata, as well as other free servers, instead. Now, I played Graal2K1 for the roleplaying aspect, as you may know if you've ever tried it, it is nearly impossible on Graal2K1. There, we've established that, well, that IS an opinion that others might share.

Now, along comes Graal2K2 (Graal2002) which is suppossed to be all roleplaying, but wait! They're adding go karts! Godspeed tells us to not go there if we don't want to. Guess what, I won't, that's what Graal2001 is for, Non Roleplaying activities. Stefan argues that they're midieval; therefore, cars make sense in midieval times... As well, "so it should not shock you if you accidently see them while rping ". Stefan, Godspeed, I don't want to offend you, but what are you thinking? USE LOGIC! Graal 2001 already has go karts! Why not keep it to that? Why not put something useful in the space, instead of getting people mad and having second thoughts about 2K2? If gokarts go through, you can bet you won't see me roleplay there, and I've seen others state replies to topics with similiar views on the subject.

My conclusion? Graal2K1 should be Graal2K1, which is an npc filled amusement park, and Graal2K2 should be Graal2K2. From what we've heard, Graal2K2 is suppossed to be a roleplaying world, but according to the recent events, that is not so. What is Graal2K2? A roleplaying realm? Or just another of what people are complaining of boredum about, another Graal2001?

What kind a ******* would put powered cars in medieval times, before fossil fuels and such were discovered?

-Message to Stefan and GodSpeed:King Arthur had a horse, not a Mercedes, tools

Echos 02-06-2002 09:01 AM

Hey, Brad, you should get the Troop to become a kingdom, if you roleplay, that would rock! You could have the Troopa Kingdom (no copyright infringements) with flying airships to raid other kingdoms.

Speaking of which, every kingdom should have a certain "weapon" or something special that they and only they can use each. Maybe one kingdom will have a flying ship, another one would have a better location for a Kingdom? Also, Kingdoms should have 2 or 3 towns within them at least...

Questa 02-06-2002 09:04 AM

Unlike many useless threads I see that this one actually has a point.

AlexH 02-06-2002 09:04 AM

Alex has an idea. :)
Instead of them being go-karts just make it like a little chatiot type thing where you sit in the back and its oulled along by a horse on the front. Then it could fit in with medieval timesso we'd all be happy and Stefan etc would be happy cause they could just give it the go kart script.

Not troop. It is copyright and would not fit in. I can remind you of a certain thing coming soon. I cannot say anything about it though...:)

Echos 02-06-2002 09:05 AM

Here are some ideas for Graal2K2:

Quests? There should be a limited ammount of Max HP (it was perfect in the preview), and it shouldn't be able to be gained or lost. If you want Magic, you should have to learn it, which could be awhile.

More powerful weapons? I say there should only be a certain ammount of swords, sticks, etc. This way it will be more RP'ish, and Black Smiths only make a certain ammount per time limit. Then there should be 3 level 2 swords for each kingdom, with the king deciding who gets them. Maybe even only one level 4 sword in the world.

Finally, whenever somebody dies in a non sparring zone, their sword/other equipement should be dropped, and possibly equiped or sold to a shop, where it could be bought.

(These things make more sense to me, but hey, this is Stefan's game, and if he doesn't use it for his game, I'll sure use it for mine)

To add onto your idea, maybe each kingdom would have it's own sort of transportation. Basically, the same script, different image. Chariots would be for a Roman style empire, Dustari would use medival horses with armour on them, Zormite would use some sort of Snakes, etc.

What happend to the kingdoms?

Is it just me or are all the kingdoms gone?

AlexH 02-06-2002 09:11 AM

With the new roleplaying system that they are supposed to be making where you can attack kingdom casltes atec it would be good if each kingdom got its own original weapon which no other kingdom could have.

It's my opinion that they are gone because Graal 2001 who invaded by some army of people who wanted to ruin Role Playing and added other stuff there, and now it seems the same dark army is trying to do the same to Graal 2002.

Yes, like I mentioned above. But why stop at weapon? Everything should be different almost, bodies, building (and designs), government, currency (with the international Gralat?), religion, etc. So much potential down the drain.

I've worked for Graal Classic before, but I left, mainly because of the financial problems my family is facing, and it takes a lot of time out of the games I am working on.

Torankusu 02-06-2002 09:30 AM

I think they are trying to show up the flintstones.

Please, be serious, this is something that I am mad about, now, if you are serious, I can see Hanna Barbera telling Graal Online to change their gfx. Why won't a high Graal admin answer my questions from the first post? Keep quiet if you want, it would just please the public more if the questions were answered.

Echos 02-06-2002 09:44 AM

I am, actually. Those cars look like something that would be on the flintstones, not in mideval times. I mean, unless it was pulled by a horse or foot powered, it shouldn't even be there.

I already suggested you having to make and repair one, so here it is again:

The wood stuff that you get from trees. You should be able to build a car out of that and like five or so iron. The cars should be foot power, and take energy (EP) to use. Your car usually messes up (CAR POWER goes down, and you have to replace it with iron or maybe a new made up liquid). Mining would have to be easier to do, as in a lot more minerals dropping than what there was on the preview. This should not take money and take hours to do. I don't really want another 2002.

OR, they can add that to Graal 2001 so not to ruin the theme of Graal 2002, and make Graal 2001 better. This way, both Graal 2002 and Graal 2001 will be better, and there would be more diversity for the players, each being of higher quality; therefore, a better general aura, and if Stefan was thinking, more p2players.

I would like to see some feedback from you the players, who this effects. If a higher administrator of the Graal Online community is to read this, they might be convinced that Graal 2002 is strictly Roleplaying.

Is there a way to make it so you can't have symbols in your name?

Admins 02-06-2002 11:20 AM

For me it looks like you are too focused on special
things you found in other games. If you really
want to have a copy of some other RPG then you
will not be happy with Graal because it is not the
same like the other game.
And making Graal a 100% copy of the medieval
times would not be fun for most of the players,
you would need to do farming or so all the time,
stuck on a small area of an island, and the only
fun thing you can ever do is playing cards or so.
The concept of the kart in Graal2002 is to have
some racing, don't know if there exists some fun
racing thing that fits perfectly in medieval times.

You didn't read all of the posts  . My ideas are 100% original, and by submitting my ideas on this forum, I agree that Graal Online may use them, there, legal stuff is over if that's what you're afraid of.

It was supposed to come out then, but then it was pushed back, so there'll be another preview out in Febuary. As for the actual game, I've heard sometime in 2003, but that's just what I've heard.

Echos 02-06-2002 11:33 AM

2003 ?! Why call it Graal 2002? Or was that a joke? That's almost as bad as Nintendo delays.

Stefan I say within a week Go Karts would be dull and not even bothered with...the fact is Mini-games subside players...personally card games would be a nice feature for 2k2 (far better than Go-karts)
Look at gokarts on 2k1...hardly anybody uses them anymore...same goes with almost all other games....its like a brand new toy..you play with it for a few days and throw it in the trash can...Players enjoy solid gameplay that keeps them interested on what is occuring...

Collosium (sp?) Games were popular back in the days I believe
maybe if you make chariots, gladiator battles, and etc

Oh oh and stefan "don't know if there exists some fun
racing thing that fits perfectly in medieval times" I heard some prime examples in this thread and many others!

They'll be popular for 10 minutes and then will be forgoten rotting away like lots of things end up doing

Kohojogo 02-07-2002 02:29 AM

Well my idea is: make a mini game island for it self!
Then all the mini games can be there if u want just keep them loooooong away from the RP zones please.
I don't want something like a idiot comes in a go-kart when some takeing over a castle:rolleyes:...

Er1c 02-07-2002 02:49 AM

The go-carts and other minigames such as this (ones that don't really fit in with the general atmosphere of the rest of the world) are going on an island in the middle of the main island. The people will not be able to take anything related to the minigames, such as a go-cart. What is so wrong about this? If you don't want to play minigames, then don't! Other people enjoy these things and it is nice to please more then just one group of people when making a game.

TDO2000 02-07-2002 02:58 AM

Hmmmm ok some things which make these big games so well loved: (like DAoC, Everquest,UO, Diablo etc.)

ok:

All these games include teamplay slaying (or just slaying) to get some stuff, money and better abilities... this stuff u can sell and get new weapons, armor etc. (this is one of the main things bc. group slaying with some tactics can be very very funny)

then events aren't silly things like "Go-Kart-Racing" no u can find things like realm battles, fighting tourneys etc. u can get unique Items at or get your own kingdom/realm to a better position in the world...

If there is no big battle u can go to magic universitys, do small or big quests which are all different (I do not need these great scripted quest if I can have many small with a nice story where u have to run all arounf the world to bring things to different person, kill one of these monsters to get their claws etc.) There can also be some very big quests u can only handle in a group (like some of the D2 endboss quests) and u will get a better and beter charackter with different armor and great magic powers and it's absolutely unique... If everyone has the same there is no real aim... It's everyones players aime to get one of the best chars in a game and have fun with others you trained from the beginning and run trough the whole world...

I'd like to have G2k2 this way and do not make the same faults u made with 2k1...
