Importance of removing warps from 2k2
 
I logged onto 2k2 today, to see whatever I could see with ghost mode. I was running around, when I decided to use "unstick me" to see where I would go.

Honestly, I was hoping nothing would happen. Why? Because the existence of unstick me will effectively ruin any seiges or the like --- you can't contain someone when all they have to do is wait thirty seconds and shout a command. What is worse, however, is that there is a room with warps to all the kingdom islands.

Hopefully, this exists only for testing purposes. In fact, I'm praying it is. Because having such a thing is far worse than unstick me. In a server designed for roleplaying, you cannot ave magical warps. The entire point of having such a huge world is exploration, no? Why will people bother trekking across the world, when they can hop into a warp? It destroys any sense of exploration, and it hardly conductive to any roleplaying.

There are a number of things that will make or break 2k2. Warps tend to fall into the "break" category. Including these will do nothing but hurt the roleplaying atmosphere, I can tell you that. And furthermore, why bother with such a large overworld if nobody is going to use it? So please, please, remove unstick me and warps. That is all I ask, and I'm sure other roleplayers will back me up on this.

The warp room IS for the preview.. as for unstick me, I agree with you but Pausing doesnt work on G2K2 ;)

Arglebargle. I sped through this in the hopes of catching Stefan, so I'll adress some points in more detail. Namely, unstick me.

You may say that having this is necessary --- indeed, it has for all other Graalian incarnations. But this was due mainly to the bugs that riddled Classic and 2k1. If the team is truly putting as much effort into 2k2 as they seem to be, there should be no use for it. In all my playing of the preview, I became stuck only once, and it was remedied with a simple level update. Even if there are bugs, the pros outweigh the cons on this one.

sounds good, but what if theres a error and you get stuck on a tree or somthing? sure you can ask staff to warp you, but what if they arnt on?

I'm aware, but that doesn't change my original point. If there's going ot be such emphasis on capturing castles and the like, there's bound to be plenty of sieges. However, it's rather difficult to lay siege to an enemy who can warp away thirty seconds later and attack the invaders from behind.

You need unstick me,
Just because graal 2002 is RP it still has to be practicle,

If you get stuck some where like in a house or a tree you have to use it, you cant PM an RC every tme you get sytuck they will get fustrated and annoied

I think the unstick me command should be changed so you need to wait five minutes. That way people woln't use it as transporation as much, only if they're stuck. People wouldn't mind waiting five minutes if they were stuck in a wall, and it would make them want to walk to their destination instead of warping to it.

yeah, that would be nice, lol. i use unstick me all da time on 2k1. cause im too lazy to wait walk down x_X

I still think it would be too short. Maybe, instead, a command that warped you to where you entered the level? You can get unstuck, and it wouldn't interfere with roleplaying if you had to wait 30 seconds. That seems as fair as you can make it, for me.

that's his point, if graal2002 is as good as it supposedly is, then you shouldn't ever get stuck on a tree in the first place

It's not possible to get stuck in a tree, since the tree is only a graphic, not a tile. ;)
