Auto-Downloading

I think Stefan should add something to the next graal exe that will eliminate having to open setup.exe. For example if there is an update, it will automatically download and you can't play until it is downloaded. I thought of this from EverQuest's game. You could also include news in the download with the new features, commands, etc -- that would open after everything else is downloaded. I hope you highly consider this idea, people won't have to ask dumb questions as well. Maybe you could even include new RC versions to be downloaded like that is well (optional).

The Nexus TK one works better in my opinion. You log on, and don't have the correct version, it checks what version you DO have and downloads/updates everything you DONT have.

Very nice system... never had an update take more than 700k...

I like that idea a lot... You don't know how many different folders I have branching off of the main graal folder because of all the updates. Another example of the auto-update thing could be Virus Scanning software... it checks to see if you have the latest virus list and if you don't it dloads it.

It's not really complicated at all. EverQuest usually will only release huge or minor updates at a time, they are real good about not adding every little new thing that they want in. There's usually atleast an update every week and it's only around 700-800KB. News on the other hand is just a txt file, nothing fancy, and takes about 2secs to download. I am impressed with EverQuest's Game Masters, that's the way it should be on most games.
