DNS and rc

urm, i wondering, if there was anyway to use a dns to make your ip static, so that i can connect to rc, and actually have an ip range, rather than just have *.*.*.* if anyone can help me with dns, and how to use it to connect to rc with a static ip, then post here, or aim me:-

Unless your are going through something like a router, in which case your ip can be made static, it will depend on your isp. Some assign dynamic IPs, and others assign static. Contact your isp if you need a static ip, they might give you one.

www.dyndns.org

Dynamic DNS routing to your IP.

A static domain for a dynamic IP. It gives me an IP range.

i think he means like on IRC .. if u ever been to it , it usually recognizes you by domain name
on Irc mine would be like LiquidIce@*.pbc.adelphia.net
(btw pbc is the area)
but u can customize it more and stuff.. and even if ur ip changes .. ur domain doesnt ..
would be bad for aol staff b/c the aol domains r too common

i have a dns, artfultodger.myip.org which gives me a static ip number, but when i connect to graal/rc, it wont recognise that static ip, instead it still picks up my real ip, perhaps because it connects directly to my computer i dont know. my conclusion, dns wont work on graal :-P
