Someone replied in my earlier post about wanting to see some pics, so here's the new male body for EoL. (Note to Konidias: sorry, we know that it seems like stealing your idea. We don't know when you got your idea, but we had the same general outline as yours before you posted about it. Don't hate me). We're going to have customizable clothes, glasses, hairstyles, pants, and other stuff. The body is in it's underwear because that's the base, then you build up from there. (We don't have any clothes done yet). Here's the male body:

Its not Konidias's idea, it was Faheria's and Murasamune's first. Which means, if Konidias gets mad at you for using the idea, I will get pissed sense I for one did not complain about him using the idea...

Yeah the body is WAY too big.. it looks okay.. but it looks too big and it doesn't really have a 3/4th top down view.. meaning it looks more like you're viewing the person from directly in front of them instead of looking down at them from an angle.

No I'm not mad other people are using the body design.. no one can claim that idea.. it's too general.. I would be pissed if someone else claimed the idea as theirs.. since seperate clothing and accessories isn't what you would call an original idea.. it's been done in games before.. and Graal has had attributes for a LONNGGG time.

Now if someone posts new bodies for their pw and they are exactly like mine, I would be pissed.. of course I don't know many people that couild emulate my graphic style perfectly.. especially not make all the animations and stuff. :)

I really don't care about "ideas" at all.. it doesn't matter what ideas a pw has, if the pw doesn't turn those ideas into awesome work, then it really doesn't matter.. I have nothing against people using ideas from me, and I don't think anyone should be against me using someone elses ideas.. Now using the exact same ideas and using the graphics is a whole different story.

no offense, Konidias, but yours look like you're viewing them right from the front too (maybe I'm looking at them wrong). I kinda figured mine were big, but I figure: bigger=more detail. I'll alter the tileset so it works with the bodies. It'll give Graal a different feeling in my opinion. But, we'll just have to see. Here's the female body (It's the worse of the two):

i tihnk its the better of the two...and they're pretty nicely made, just i'll tell you know if you use the current pics1 thats like me being seen in a cartoon...they will not even come close to fitting in

It seems I've got some bad news at a bad time. My only other staff member has quit the job for reasons unknown to me. I'm still going to work on EoL myself, but it'll take longer (Lash had some fixed up levels that I need). I'm *NOT* asking for staff, just informing. Do not reply looking for staff position, you won't get it.

Still say make them smaller.. and your lady is hott! j/k. lol

Lash (A.K.A Kentae, Daiden, Aerodias, etc.) was the only staff member who stuck with me for as long as he did. While he sat in the shadows at times, his ideas (once realized) were fantastic. He came up with the idea of our Health Meter, our RPing town, he was in charge of a special area on EoL (which can't be revealed), and many other things. Without these, EoL would have been abandoned long ago. I have mixed feelings about Lash. One one hand, he was a lazy bum who hardly did any physical work, and on the other, he revolutionized EoL for the better. Just to set the record straight, I didn't fire him, he just got bored of waiting too long. As far as I know, he'll still be on the forums, but no longer on Graal. Consider this post as a "remembrance of Lash" post. Many of you don't like him, but, fortunately, I know him personally (we go to the same high school) and he is a nice kid. His scripting talents far surpass mine as well as his level making abilities. Godbye Lash, Era of Legends has seen it's last great member. :(

Post some screenshots or something so we can see better... or do you have a website?

ok, I realize that the bodies are big, but that is the point. I'm trying to make Graal feel more realistic. I'm going to edit the tileset to accomodate the change later. EoL does have a website, but it isn't functioning as of now. When more of the bodies are done, I'll post more pics. So far, I've got the side walking animation for the male body and no animation for the female body. Any help in the GFX area would be great. The bodies still need clothes.

But people keep destroying Graal as Graal! Do you remmber Graal's routs? Zelda! ZELDA! OK 2002 did change Graal... then Konidias but his bodys look more of a Graalian Style and now these... AGRH! Graal is not a realistic game and that's why we like it!

If you ever went to nostalgia on classic..you would see how original it is and how old it is...soemthing things would change but not much..thats how the ervers should be..not all this realistic ****..thst why i like this game

I just don't see how those would work as Graal players.. the bodies are enormous.. they are like 3 times taller then the current Graal bodies.. 10 of those on a level and they will completely cover it... what I meant by the view is that with mine, the legs and chest are short, giving it more of a sense of viewing from a higher angle, while with yourse, the legs and everything are long... to be honest, they look like they are hanging or something.. not standing. :(

I'm not sure if many know this, but Zayjee plans to do this on a free server :x

Just screw it

Just by you quitting this easily shows it would have never been good. An effort could go in to make it improve, if no effort then... a crappy playerworld.

You know... James... you are wrong...

I's really hard to make bodys and original characters for non-P2P... It'll lag like hell... so far I have seen only one unlaggy IMG Xharcter on non-p2p... Mouse.. you know on classic =)
But then again it's small...creating bigger one might lag...

I wanted to do bodys too but now I changed to a different thing =) It's gonna be hard but as soon as I am done you still will be shocked =)

No I am not wrong, I was talking about how he quit due to people. I never said anything about his work, what I was trying to say is that if he quits that easily over a few people, it shows that it would never be a good playerworld. If he cant handle a few people he cant handle a playerworld.

So are you gonna quit working on it?

Um, image size is irrelevant towards lag. It will only effect your speed when you download it for the first time...but then again, files cannot be larger than 60kb...so lag will be kinda nil anyway :p

Sorry, but those bodies are way too large.

They're good graphics, but they'd be too big for the way Graal is setup.

I said "screw it" because I saw that many people didn't like the idea of playing as those huge bodies. Because EoL is (read: tries) to satisfy the masses, the bodies will not be used in the main area of the server. But, I have found another use for the bodies and I will use them in a side area. If you want any more info, please ask. Here's a screen shot. *prepares for flames again* (Note: this was the first level I made back in 1.34 or whatever. I've upgraded it since (which is what you see). I have better levels than this (I think so anyway).

No one is flaming you.. it's called OPINIONS. The majority doesn't want GI-Joe sized players, so I guess it would be better not to make them so big. The bodies shouldn't be used period, they won't fit in with Graal, and it will make your pw look like cheap crap. So don't use them at all since they are nothing like Graal, and you're still going to use the Graal tileset. Just a suggestion.. not a flame. :)

I was preparing for flames because of the pic I posted, not the bodies. I consider a flame to be something like "You mutha f****** son uv a b**** that is so d*** sh****! You should go die you mutha f****** fat ba*****!" I more or less expected the threads that I've already gotten. Oh, and, the bodies will stay because that is my call. Plus, due to the fact that I'm putting them in a side area means that you don't have to play there. There are many side areas on EoL, this just adds to the list.

I already said I would change the tileset to work with the bodies. Twice in fact.
