Networking and OS

I had this in another thread but no one responded and I need a quick response.

I currently have two computers networked, mine and my dads. My dad wants to get Windows XP, but according to microsoft copyright restrictions XP can only be installed on one computer . What I want to know is on my network can one computer be windows ME, and the other windows XP. I am networked using a lnksys etherfast cable router.

I appreciate any help.

Or what else would you suggest.

Thanks for your time.

You are forced to listen to them, because of Product Activation.

Yes, your computers can have different operating systems.

Buy another license if you want XP on both.

Does that mean a whole new one? or is this just the license? and how much would that cost (approximate)

Do you have home edition (upgrade / full) or Professional? (upgrade / full)?

Waltz5 01-14-2002 05:53 AM

Home upgrade
