What can I do?

Hello, when playing graal sometimes my computer just freezes up. Or the screen blinks and I can play, but no one else moves, then a blue error screen goes up.

What can contribute to this? Is it just really bad server lag?
Btw this has happend ever since I've had Graal.
I have a cable modem but it sure doesn't seem like it.
I was thinking my Video card.. I think I have a real crappy one. Can this contribute or what else?

PS: I didn't know what forum to post this in so I just posted it here in the most frequent visited forum.

Thanks for your help in advance.

It's okay, this is the right forum for your questions :) I bet it is your graphics card, especially since you say you experience screen blinking and stuff. Please tell us what video card you have and what Operating System you are using and maybe we can help you locate some good drivers

I'll probably get a new one.. also which would u suggest I buy?

Your card is made by ATI, I looked on their site, they have no NEW drivers for your card, they recommend people using that card to use the drivers built-in to Windows Me

HOWEVER

you should visit:
www.windowsupdate.com
it might have new drivers for your videocard, so look there first

As a last alternative, you can try these drivers
http://support.ati.com/drivers/win98/win98_4102420.html
ATI's support website says you can use them for Me even though they are not designed for use on Me. They should be newer than your current ones though

Oh, and as for videocard suggestions on what to buy...
Personally I would say get an nvidia card www.nvidia.com
anything from the GeForce 2 or GeForce 3 series of cards will be fine for you. Your best bet, read some hardware reviews, maybe try http://www.tomshardware.com

:p

Sorry for all these posts but I just keep thinking of things to ask.
What would be the best amount wise? like 32 mb 64 mb? etc.

Also, just upgrading to a 8mb would that have any effect?

In today's games, increasing from 4mb to 8mb is going to give you only a little boost, you are going to need more. I would suggest you get at least a 32mb card. 64+ if you can :D
