Big Bug Problem

Recently i have experienced the level linking of level loading glitch.
Now graal wont even load, offline and online.
When i load graal i come up to the first screen and i pick either offline(training) or online(start)
When i try jus going offline teh screen disappears and my cpu freezes.
When i try going online everyting works tiill it tries to connect to the server.
Once it went to server list and then it jus freezes or doesnt load.
I have tried redownloading graal many times over my current graal folder.
But it still happens.....
Any ideas?

The exact same thing happened to me a lot of times before when the version first came out, most likely because an "incompatibility" with 256 color mode.. then when I changed it to 16 or 24-bit mode it started working again. Dunno if this is the reason in your case though

Try 16bit or 32bit. When I had Graal in 24bit mode, everything was screwy and ebil.

ya van try that hahaha your graal is ****ed up!!!!!!

16 bit

I have experianced the same problem, ok heres the deal:
What you need to do is ensure your in 16 bit, 24 bit is too much for a lot of cards to process with graal, when i had 24 bit even in offline mode EVERYTHING even a completly grass level with no npcs lagged like hell. Although that might be fixed now in 2.1 however if u can't fix it, e-mail stefan after trying to reinstall...

The problem for that kind of problems is in 95% of
the cases the direct3d stuff (light effects, daynight).
In some color modes the card says it can do direct3d,
but cannot do it or only very slow, so you might get
errors or it's very slow. When you disable direct3d
in the graal options it should work better.

I didn't know you were using D3D for Graal...are you using DX8 to? Kinda doubt it, you would most likely need to redo the whole tile engine, since DirectDraw is gone...

In that case, anyhow, could you add support for .x files by any chance? It would make things alot better, for sprites and such. With that there would also need to be numerous other commands, but you get the point I'm sure :D

Ne0 first owned Alpine and I was the first Nat Chief but I had to quit because I had too much stuff to do with Eternal Destiny and not enough time.

van_01 12-11-2001 05:49 AM

Ne0 still owns it with Vagma....
