ok when i try to load graal now it says DirectX unsupported for wrong type! WTF!!! I redid everything and it is still screwed...Stefan, help me out here dude or somebody else that has brains....

reinstall or make sure u got the latest version of Dx . i believe its 8

i have Direct X 9.0

this needs to be fixed fast! b/c i have loads of lvls to do...i have like 3 versions of graal per server and they all dont work...whenever i open the directx dialog it freezes in this screen

my dad works for Microsoft and he called them up and it still doesnt work!! i am getting P-OED:grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

The Direct X 9.0 is still on beta version.
you should use 8.1, already included on Windows XP.

What that "unsupported" thing means is that the peeps at Microsoft haven't tested the driver to see if it runs perfectly. I am pretty sure the problem is DirectX 9, which is in Beta version. Try to downgrade to DirectX 8.1 if possible. Also, try changing your color depth to something other than 24bit. Graal completely screwed up in 24bit color for me.

no it aint BETA v9.0...its full version...i got it fixed....theres a bazillion new features so i was just used to the old one on the other comp but now i got it fixed.....

Get the latest driver for your graphics card,
the default drivers included in windows are often
crashing the system or make other problems

or you can restart your computer and it will work lol

.....how is he on a P2, and run XP? How is he running XP and have the same screen setup as 9x? O_O

its a P3. For soem weird reason it doesnt say that, i upgraded this computer though. Directx v9.0 is designed for Windows XP but yet is capable wiht Windows 98. Microsoft just wants people to think 9.0 is going through a "BETA" phase. I am not allowed to say anything else. If a Admin reads this thread, please close it.

Actually that is all possible, XP can run on a P2 AND have the same screen setup as the 9X vesions of windows as long as you set the proper options.

I dont think you can downgrade DX. I had 8 and i wanted to go back to 7, and no luck, it wouldnt work. I think the only way you can downgrade is to reinstall whatever version of windows you have. And if you have XP, well then theres no way to get to 8.0 or lower.

supersonic, im sorry to say that i never had much respect for you, but to come out with this, for no reason, makes have even less respect for you. I dont think they would have hired you if you spoke to them like that, so why speak to others like that?

Microsoft Windows eXPerience comes preloaded with DirectX 8.1, which is the LATEST non-Beta version of DirectX available to the public.

It's possible to have XP run on a PII, but not the kind of system he is running; not with 64MB of RAM.

And yes, the 9x screen is available simply by switching to "Classic" mode.

Also, royce, due to the fact that you are running a build of XP which is almost 400 builds out of date, that could be causing you a problem.

Just click on the "Don't use Direct X 7" button in General options, then.

I check the Window's Update site very often and they are still using the DirectX 8.1 version. Better opt for it.

No such thing as 9.0, anyways. His screenshot is most likely doctored...or fake to begin with. Considering I was checking my own DirectX diagnostic screen and it's much more up to date than his.
