I saw those by the clothes picking place in harmonia..
Right outside..2 guys with the names Stan and Mike (I think mike) kept dieing, and there was a guy in the middle..
really weird

They are godspeeds little npc helper clone things that follow him around.. and uhh, have no reason to be there besides the fact that he is careless to remove them..

I think they are people from graal 2k2 or newworld to warn us people in 2k1 of its impending doom, which will happen when 2k2 or new world comes out, probably new world if you have seen its logos of "dead graal" or something like that

Why does Godspeed get some?
Why is he so special? All I know about him is that he made godspeeds spar.

Luckily everyone's account data was stored safely on the accounts.txt, and Ghost Pirate was rightfull banned for hurting people's feelings, and forgetting to put the toilet seat down.

I was thinking that it might have been messaging the distance between the player and the NPC... but oh well, blame GodSpeed?
I can remember when there was a bush, and a newbie NPC standing in a field of green levels, then Stefan said something to the effect of, "these have got to go", and poof, they disappeared.

What exactly do they do

Nothing.

Unless GS changed them.

I remember helping him test them a bit on ToT, once.

They pretty much do whatever he says, but even that is limited to certain things.

They can march in formation behind him, attack you, etc.

They're basically just "advanced" NPCs. They aren't really "helpers"..

I'd say they are there simply as a test to see if an updated version of them works, possibly for use on 2k2, and if not, adding them to 2k1. :)
