Automapping Improvement?
I think that overwqorlds should be automatically defined when you pass through a warp that takes up a whole side of a level and there is a return warp that takes up the whole side opposite from the original. That is, when you go from level 13 to level 14 on Classic, were your map.txt deleted, Graal would sense that the 14<13 link takes up the whole left side of the level, it would check in 14 to see if there is a 14>13 link, and if it takes up the entire right side of the level. If so, an overworld is started (or added to).
Methinks that this would encourage use of multiple overworld maps...Classic has a few, but every server could have some more. |
... u mean like the CS2 maps?

yah, but started automatically without any human txtmaking

my idea == you can define in the editor which levels link to which other levels.
and this information is stored in the level files. and it auto links from then on. easier than making all those map files. people would link all thier levels! |

The TXTs are okay, but they can be drudgery, and it's hard for noobs to learn. Meaning *cry* less overworlds. In fact, it'd be less confusing than my original idea to simply have a gmapper.exe program in the Graal package, it displays a level and eight adjacent levels, which you can define, at any zoom, and some way to change focus from one level to another with ctrl+click.
