Market Improvements.
 

Since someone deleted the thread posted by Hype, and everyone did not get to see my market improvement ideas to stop scamming, I will re-type them. (btw, it's funny how she deletes it when everyone points out that I have enough evidence for a legal case)

1. Disable the trading and hat trading npc's, unless you own a rented booth. This will stop a lot of scamming (as listed in the picture below)'

2. Put a 10 second time interval on all items that you place at your stand, similar to the 10 seconds you have to wait when changing nick names or heads. This will stop those annoying scammers who put an item for 0 or 1 g, then take it and put it back for tons of money, and since the market is laggy, they find it very easy to do this.

3. Get a new team dedicated to keeping an eye out for illegal activity, like scamming. This is needed because the police are lazy, and if we had a team to do their job, then scammers could finally be stopped.

4. Separate the market levels, so that they are not linked to the other graal levels (like insides of houses.) This will cut back on the lag, which scammers use to their advantage when they try to steal your money.

Below is a picture showing why we need these things put into effect, scamming is just getting done too often, and police refuse to help you out (HYPE.) If anyone wants to help me get my 120 gralats back that these two players stole from me, pm me, I have their account names.

Definately, but I want lots of people to support these ideas before they are sent to Stefan, so he considers them and doesn't dismiss them.

If support is what you're looking for, why didn't you make a poll?

im new so i dont know what im talking about makes sense, but above the hat is the little green arrow and you see that when someone is using the trading item, but i guess you didnt notice it cause of the good price? i dont know..... i probably dont know what im talking about. i do support you though, i only have about 140g and it took me forever to make that, and i know i would be pissed if i were scammed, but if its legal theres nothing much to do untill its made illegal

I just don't want people to vote and then close it, I want to hear their opinions about it, maybe they even have some additions that will improve it even more.

That's just a still of the scene, when it was moving, the flames were all over it covering it. And besides, if you see an amazing price, you don't think that you may be scammed by some sick player who wants to ruin your fun, all you think is buying the item as fast as possible.... It's a shame that I have to think twice before buying something now though.

We (police) are not lazy. We can not be in everyplace at once while still monitering the market. One or two people that watched the market could not hurt.

One or two people would not hurt at all... They don't even need tags, I am sure they would be able to keep an eye open for the good of the server.

You have SOME good ideas,the 10 second thing is good,but i think it should be lowered to 5,you wanna get rid of something fast,and its long enough to see a scam.the Trading item idea is NOT good,i give out lots of stuff for free,and sometimes all the stands are full,but everything else is good,also,there should be a police in market at all times

it would've wasted her time, unless a police member had witnessed it. Or, enough people complained to Loriel.

Maybe they could still disable the trading npc's in the market, but make a link from the market to another trading house... (it's pretty far to go to get to the trading house, and I believe that all the financial activity and trades should go on in one area of graal2001, not all over.) By linking to a trading house, you would still be able to give and trade stuff, and it would still cut back on the scams by a lot.

Definately. There should be one staff member in the market at all times, keeping an eye out for illegal activity. I seriously am trying to figure out the purpose for Police; most of them don't answer my questions, they don't help when someone is harassing me, and they really don't help when we need it the most, being scammed that is. Police should either take on more responibilities or they should simply be replaced. FAQ's do more than they do, they even do police jobs sometimes.

I have plently of them to prove that I was scammed. But as I said, that was dropped before, I am trying to get support on these improvements so things can be better for graal2001.

Yeah, that would work.... I know many staff members who are not lazy (on other servers of course) who have multiple accounts, and are able to utilize them to go undercover and catch hackers and people doing illegal things. Of course on a p2p server extra accounts aren't available, that's why we need a whole new team to prevent this. Sometime even just the presence of authority stops things from happening, people wearing an Anti-Scam or whatever tag would definately do so.

This is what I think. I got scammed out of 1001g and 3500g before. It's not fun! I know...

Maybe Stefan should add a command that opens a window when the first player to say 'buy item 1' or whatever buy's the item. The window would have a confrontation box. You would have to select if you wanted to buy THAT item for THAT price. Yes or No. That way if you bought something for say, 3500g you could simply select 'No' and the item wouldn't be bought and stay on the stand.

The window would stay open for 4-5 seconds and then close.

I think James mentioned something like this before.

I mostly agree, but 120 is nothing, and it's KIND OF OBVIOUS IT'S NOT THAT HAT IF THERE IS A GREEN ARROW ABOVE THE HAT. ;/

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. The one where Jerom, Ramirez, and basically everyone else was like "what the hell, you're an idiot." That thread is the reason Rufus is on my ignore list.

hey, scamming is a part of the graal commerce .. deal with it... :D:D:D

or make a rota like the other chiefs have done.

eg one in the market
one in the farmland
one in the mining and crafting place
one in the bread bakery
and rotate all the officers

Okay, scratch out all those ideas and do this:

make it so no one can BUY any item for 5 seconds.. so if someone puts a hat up for 5000 gralat, you can't buy it for 5 seconds.. giving everyone a chance to see the price first.

what are you talking about don't link the levels to houses? since when are they linked to houses?

Also, the reason the market lags is because of the npcs and people.. gee lets see:

each stand:
1 basket npc
1 table npc
1 green top npc
1 sign npc
6 item npcs

10 npcs a piece, plus 3 or 4 stands on the level means there are 30 to 40 npcs alone in the stands.. not to mention, lights, the railroad, and the TONS of items left in the basket.. we're talking about 70-80 npcs on the level not to mention the people, bomy pets, and anything they use to lag up levels (emoticons, bomy pets, torchs, any gani, etc)

THAT is why the market lags.. If you go in the market while it isn't busy, and the stands aren't full, and the baskets have been cleared, it doesn't lag. :)

What I meant was, you know how outside levels are all connected, but when you enter an inside level, the level is by itself and it lags less. If we put one stand in each of these levels, then that would cut back lag tremendously.

And also the you can't buy an item for 5 seconds is a pretty good idea.

Anyone have any other comments?
