Idea for super graal client
 

I was thinking that since Stefan plans on doing a new guild system and that several people have proposed adding a Guild CP look-alike to the client, why not add more than one thing such as RC, NC and other external programs like GraalShop or LevelGen?

Yeah, that would make the size of the .exe quite large, but it would make things simpler and more efficient to use. I get tired of having to go round and round through different windows...alt+tabbing gets tiresome :( Of course, adding things like RC and NC would also rise questions of security problems. Just do something that checks the account for specific flags or marks as to whether or not it can access RC or NC. Also, keeping the interfaces for each one simple would help to probably keep resource usage down...but it should only affect the user especially if he/she has the main window, RC and NC windows open together...or just combine RC and NC together since both are more or less identical...just check the account to make sure that it can use the controls for either one and setup fields for the 2 different ports.

I understand that my idea is probably not the best nor porbably the most feasible but nevertheless, its an idea and if the right people add to it, it can become better :)

I love it. This would really improve functionality and productivity! The level editor is already built-in, it's time to take the next step!

Look at all the seperate programs that you need to use... graalshop, levelgen, RC, NC, a lot of the features from many of these, if not all, could just as easily be built directly into the client itself! And why not? It would make things easier.

Also think, people would not need to be logged in multiple times. Like how RCs usually log into their RC account, and then also to normal Graal. If everyone just used one client and logged in once to do these things, all the better ^_^

This would be a huge change, but I think it would be a welcome one

heh, It might be nice for people who play fullscreen too ;)

Though I don't use fullscreen because it kinda messes me up a little (my laptop likes things in windows better than fullscreen)

I like it but I think RC should always be seperate. This will reduce "tampering" into the server.

Yea, I hate going on the web logging in and all that crap. It's easier through a client.

And after hours and hours of work, and then you load a browser.. It IS kinda laggy :X

I don't think it lags on Windows XP through, it did on Windows ME and 98/98SecondEdition

Yes, the logging into the guild manager on a webpage does lag up a bit, because it's taking up resources having to open another program (IE or Netscape, whatever).

Let's hope Stefan implements it into the game.


Oh and don't get me started on Windows XP :mad:

Ingame guild management would be very good, but RC / NC should be combined and stay seperate. Leven gen would be nice if it were built into the client if it were improved. If it isn't improved though, and it just stays as simple as it currently is, theres no reason adding it to the client.

an irc client type thing would be nicer than the playerlist, for example, you could log onto a server and the playerlist would be integrated with an irc client, it has the same functions , but added irc chat room features, would be nicer than toalls and pms with adverts
