Help; I'm a moron...

How can I set a transparent color for a png/gif file...
Whenever I use the selection tool w/ photoshop and hit "delete" it removes my background color, but blends with the area not selected... In other words, its deleting more than I want it to...
I need it cut exactly down to every pixel...:grrr:

So... just because we didn't look at this thread right away and help you, even though SOME OF US WOULD NOT KNOW HOW, we are all 'useless *****s'? Whatever.

make an image or whatever that says Transparent GIF/PNG

make your image
leave the background white
convert it to a 256 color or 8 color image i think

Yes, I suppose I was a bit impatient. I was using Photoshop 6 Beta. I had anti-aliasing on and couldn't find the little button to turn it off (due to my really high resolution, 1280x1024) I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HHHHAAATTTTEEEE anti-aliasing...

Good day, I suppose. (yes, I'm tyring to increase my post count)

Anyway, I think I did a good job on it, I borrowed from some other ones, but edited most of what I took in paint (I only used phtoshop for the transparecy). I will post it soon.

I use 1280 x 1024 (at home, I'm currently at school where they have them stuck on 800 x 600. :( ), and I can see everything easily.
