Well I got GeForce 2 GTS 64MB BUHAHAHAHA and had the same problem, if it worked before and not now, then just download the 2nd v2.1 test, because the 3rd one got problems with light effects. Hope I helped, if I didn't GET A NVIDIA CARD!!!

nVidia TNT2 and DX8 here...my gamma is FUBAR but a gamma correct utility that came with a photoshop demo is handy. Yet I still cannot see in UGL too good unless I turn off DX7.

I see really big black circles where the lighting effects should be

hehe I think Stefan needs to look carefully... it says DX7 I noted... most people have DX8..... ahh well I've come up with several theories why those darn things arn't working for half the population...

If you're that obsessed with Graal that it dictates what kind of computer you buy, you have serious problems.

there is no "best computer".
Just get a GeForce video card, and you can see everything on graal. Also, as Kamuii said, the fact that graal would determine your next computer purchase depresses the hell out of me.

You can get a 32MB GeForce 2 MX200 for less than 90 dollars.

scoh2 10-14-2001 10:46 AM

You think you have problems

I have a POS Compaq and a generic graphics card, the name of which changes everytime I get new driver for it... For the longest time, I didn't even know lighting effects existed... I will kill a man for lighting effects...

And after seeing BirdBirds house (w/ lighting effects)... oh man.
Anyone know how I can get them to work, or is it hopeless?

spi 10-14-2001 11:04 AM

birdbird uses too many light effects.

They make his horrible tiled levels look even worse.

I highly recommend you look for better uses of your computer-related time. Also, what is Stefan gave you absolutely terrible advice?
