Events Team Admin

Hello! :)

For those who don't know me i'm Mega (BrentWood):D:D:D, I've been wanting to acquire the ETA position for quite a while but it seems like it never falls my way. Anyway just wanted to give my point of view on the events team now, where it stands, and other opinions.
  • First off, when I left era for about a month and a half, I've come back to find the new map release. Along with that i'm thinking there is to be new events, and new this and new that; but sadly I was disappointed. The Events Team in my mind is lacking this nonsense ability I call "Imagination" and "Originality". The new map has been release so why not take some time out to add new things to the game to make it more interesting such as Events!
  • Secondly I feel like the ETA now and days is just a position to sit and boss people around. The GBA most likely hosts Gang Tournaments, and from past knowledge usually a PR with an ET Tag will host weekly Tournaments. This 'Free Space' of a position should be shifted into a position where the ETA should not only offer verbal advice but contributions as to levels and (or) ideas. I having some (Some meaning 15-20) events (created) on archive have closely looked at great event servers such as UN and compared them to era. Number one contrast; originality. If you think about it eras events are either typical in the sense of fps (first person shooter) games, or take the concept of CoD, or Battlefield. (Black Ops 2 = Gun Race, Era = Upgradge) Simply, who wants to play a downgraded 2d version of CoD, nine times out of ten no one.
  • Finally this is not to say i'm bashing any staff members or even the current ETA, but my point is the position alone falls short because of its lack of contributions to the staff team. Small details can improve the team easily and substantially impact the team and the server. Feel free to leave comments, do you agree, or disagree, be sure to tell why and what you should or would do to make the team a little bit more active in the community, and the Admin a little bit more voluntarily friendly.

The ETA position has been thrown around too many times to count. I couldn't even name the last person I could remember actually doing a decent job with the position.

Point being it can be shifted into a useful position and one that doesn't require enough hours for you to sit around and boss people. I have some views and ideas of my own that might in your mind promote me to this position.

I believe development skills is always nice to have but I don't think it is needed; We have developers, we even have players (like yourself) who can create content that will be viably used.

I also believe an active, worth-while and passionate player will always take the cake over a half-assed, unmotivated and useless developer.

Now, don't get me wrong, I can tell from your continuous forum posts that you clearly want to get back onto the team and you seem quite driven to do so but how long will it take before that spark is lost and you become another useless developer that logs on once a week to staff stick a few people and log off?

I don't really care about who is running the events team, I don't think anyone does, as long as; we have an active team of ETs hosting through-out peak times.
