Something a bit different: Raffle this Sunday!

Hey all!
I got tired of auctioning guns off each Sunday and seeing the same people win again and again.
So, this Sunday I'm going to raffle off an AAC Honey Badger, which is a new gun in the Navy-tier. This raffle is essentially a lottery where a winner is chosen at random from a pool.

Tickets will only be $500 so everyone can participate. You can buy 10 tickets max.
If you currently don't have a lot of cash, this could be a great opportunity to get back in the game.

Let me know if you have any questions

Why not 100 tickets for $50?

Sounds cool, might log-in for 5 minutes. Can we get a realistic time-frame?

Because they don't want to give guns away for free? duh

Might as well be 1 ticket. What's the point in more than 1 if everyone has the same odds of winning?

Well, yeah, but it doesn't really apply to this topic lol

I think a good reason for making it 10 tickets instead of 1 is granularity.
If you have 10 tickets that cost 5k total or 1 ticket that costs 5k, I'd rather take the 10 tickets, since If you don't want to commit a whole 5k to a raffle, you can just buy 3 or 8 or however many you want of them.

Yeah, this was really the point. I was torn between just having one ticket so everyone has a 100% equal chance and having like even more than ten tickets (mo' money when you don't have a lot of people playing).
As it stood, we had 90 people on for the raffle, and I think we sold just over 500 tickets. Pretty awesome! But at the same time, that's only like 250k when the gun is valued around 900k.

So really it's a matter of balancing fairness to the less-fortunate players while not giving the gun away for free.
