Character NPCs
 

This has been going on for a while now and just seems to be getting out of hand lately. I will give you some examples of what i am talking about.

The first 2 pictures i have provided are the characters of staff, why? We already see you on a daily basis we don't need to look at your NPCs. I honestly believe this is just 'show off' stunt to say hey look at me i had a part to play in this''. It's not professional and it looks very 'tacky'.

The third example of made up characters is how thing's was always done and should be done.

The second one isn't staff. Ozzy was the winner of the digging contest.
That's kinda like trying to argue that there shouldn't be iron man statues.

The first one I agree with, though. That's kinda lame.

And yay the third one was Zach and I :D (mostly Zach)

Well it looks like he has a (Wor.. working tag to me even still that's only one example out of many.

That has nothing to do with the iron man statues :confused: In what way does it have anything to do with those?

Do we really have to walk around and engage with 5 zeyos for example? There should be made up npcs throughout the gmap, not real life characters who just want to be recognized for the work they done. We both know that's all it is.

Also names that don't even make sense.

By "a while now" you mean since basically the introduction of Era, right?

With that said, I agree that it's dumb...but honestly, who cares?

I guess but people do care but as you know not many people engage with the forums. I was just pointing out how dumb it looks and pointing out their intentions behind it.

I could also use the same line to their NPC's. We know you had a part in the project and you don't need to leave something behind to show because honestly, who cares?

If you look around, there's a few scripts that I put in place that just copy random staff members outfit. And the ones that do exist of myself are just events or levels I've made..

That's why you name events or put yourself into signs/billboards.
No one notices those!

Though I do have like a half dozen statues otherwise. To be fair they're all classes though, not random level NPCs. (Other than the ETA statue)

They won't last, don't be worried at all, in 5 minutes a new set of players will take over and replace those NPC's with NPC's of themselves and it will be a vicious cycle until the day we all log off once and for all.

I'd like to point out that Toad has been there for years.

Because Toad doesn't resemble someone on Era, Toad is Toad, a nobody.

Pride comes into play when new staff members take over, they want to make everything personal.

I am very disappointed that the hospital nurse is no longer named "Nyte's Mom" that was there for years until recently :(

Yeah I find that silly, the reason why I've added statues of myself is for recognition of a project I've done. That being said, I have seen other new staff members in the past replace my NPC with their own...

You guys should just put my statue everywhere and call it a day. :(

There are better things to fix than the npcs in this game.

does anyone else find it annoying when certain staff feel the need to make their own version of a staff block? oh wow it's a staff block but has your name on it. soooo creative. looks stupid imo.

Staff blocks in general are pretty stupid.

Staff blocks are used in most cases instead of the Announcement Board.

How can nobody have mentioned christmastown yet

That being said -- everyone that works on Era is a volunteer. If they want to put up statues around the levels they make, meh.
You could have -not- had a christmastown.

I agree. I've always thought staff blocks were unnecessary. they should only be used temporarily. for example, blocking off a level while an admin takes out the warp link via level editor. then remove the blocks.

and nothing grinds my gears more than announcements on staff blocks at unstick me.

I remember when they first started with the text on staff blocks, when the server would restart (which was daily occurrence back then.) Any player could change the text on the staff block when the server came back up. Was funny.
