Nerf: Xmas Flame Sword
 

Hello,

we are going to remove the attacktype number 14826 (blind) from the Xmas Flame Sword next week, wednesday 11th september 2013.

This means ALL xmas flaming swords will be removed and a new archtype will be set.

Refunds:
Players with a prepped Xmas Flame sword are able to get 1/3 of their prepped materials in either IWDs, EWs or Diamonds back.
i.e. 3 IWDs used on your Sword will bring you 1 IWD as refund.

Why are we doing this?
Since the Xmas Flame Sword is basically for free, this made other weapons like Tainted Grace unattractive and low in value.
Also the god DianChecht was not popular, since everybody was able to get a Xmas Flame Sword for free.

This nerf will balance it out again.

I would agree had this been a new item and it was just recently brought into the game. But to nerf an item that has been in use for over 3 years or so and then not even give a full refund on AT LEAST the prep? That's insane Nico.

If you're going to take away our weapons, at least give us back the items we put into them x_x. I understand you don't want to flood GK with tons of IWDs/EWs/etc., but seriously—a lot of us put a lot of time into getting those. If nothing else just let us re-apply them to a different weapon for a full refund as opposed to giving us the scrolls for a 1/3 refund.

IWD's and EA's arent as hard to get anymore, the only thing thats keeping them as valuable as they are, is that they can be tigged.

Yeah, I'm not digging this decision either-- but realize the positive impact you're trying to bring to the Dianceht users, which is cool.

But I agree with Nate & Chris that 1/3 is a bit of a slap to the face. Could we agree upon this?

Refund Options:

Option 1: A 1/3 refund of materials if the player wants to receive IWD's, GK's, and dias directly.

Option 2: The player provides a new weapon (TG for example), and uses the Xmas as their "coupon" for a full transfer to that weapon.

It's still annoying that I'd have to find a replacement weapon (there are other things I'm saving for), but at least it's a bit less of a compromise to others who already have spare weapons they could prep.

IWDs , PWs and EWs spawnrates got increased months ago. They are not hard to spawn anymore.

I personally just think IWD's and EA's should be removed from tig which will lower their price to what it should be :3

I understand that the spawn rates were increased, however, you are basically taking away items players already paid for. Many of these players paid a lot more than 600-800 plat for. Not refunding what they put into the weapon is very unfair towards these players. A complete refund of atleast the items put on the weapon should be done.

We are refunding 1/3 of the used materials, which is enough considering most of the players prepped the sword 3 years ago.
They can easily respawn IWDs and prepp another sword. I didn't decide this in just one day. I thought about it since March 2013.
Xmas Flame Swords attacktypes will be replaced with fire+cold, which will do elementary damage and should be fine.

During the last 4 months we gave alot to the players, in my opinion already way to much. Which is not bad. But now it is time to take something away which is reasonable aswell.

I do not want to discuss it any further aswell. The decision is made, and in the long run, it will be fair to everyone. Esspecially to people who chosed DianChecht as their god and now can finally bless like Bile, Gov and Ogma.
Soon Fear will work aswell with all the resistance, so Balor will get more attractive aswell. But this is another topic.
