Gonstruct - Mac - Help

I can't edit sources.conf on my mac, I tried to follow the instructions some users suggested in the actual thread for the macport, but I still can't get it. Could someone please help? I tried pressing get info and changing the permissions, and using terminal to change it with chmod but nothing works :(.

Try to sudo into root and chmod from there?

What do you mean by root, I tried using google, but I didn't understand it.

I'm not really sure what the file is but you can just do
HTML Code:

sudo nano path/to/file
from Terminal. CTRL+O to save.

Okay well, I got further but now I have this error when I try to install, good thing its like 5x shorter than the last ;)

---> Computing dependencies for gonstruct
Error: Dependency 'ruby' not found.
To report a bug, follow the instructions in the guide:
http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets
Error: Processing of port gonstruct failed

^ Thats the whole error.

I tried that but nothing different happened... Or maybe I installed the wrong one, can you give me a link?

My guess would be you can just run
HTML Code:

port install ruby
to install Ruby via MacPorts.

Astram 01-07-2013 02:53 AM

Dylans-MacBook-Pro:~ Dylan$ port install ruby
Error: Insufficient privileges to write to MacPorts install prefix.
Dylans-MacBook-Pro:~ Dylan$ sudo port install ruby
Password:
Error: Port ruby not found
Dylans-MacBook-Pro:~ Dylan$

I tried saying port install ruby and it said I lacked privileges.
Then I tried to sudo that and it didn't work, as it said it didn't exist.

Continuing with compilation. Please read 'rvm mount' to get more information on binary rubies.
The provided compiler '/usr/bin/gcc' is LLVM based, it is not yet fully supported by ruby and gems, please read `rvm requirements`.

Your gcc compiler isn't up to date.
