Input/Help bar design

Looking for some input and perhaps some help on a good, clean looking HP bar and quick slots.

As shown in the picture, I am trying to combine the hot keys and the health bar.

I like the idea, but I'm not the best in PS5, and I am not 100% please of what I have. I want it PERFECT.

The Health drains from right to left.

On a side not: maybe something like diablo style?

Neat idea for the way you did the hp bar. I'm not all for the little skinny section of the hp bar under it though.

I was killing time so I figured I would see what I could come up with. My version uses 16x16 boxes though.

I might have to use that! it looks really good. I like the way the red color fades from dark to light. rep ++

Go for it lol , only downfall is all ur icons will require zooming or a second icon for 16x16 , plus with that cool down effect someone posted in the scripting section it would look pretty legit.

I didn't put numbers in case you wanted players to be able to assign anything to a hotkey via some options menu or something lol. 1,2,3,z,x,c,7,r,9

Yeah I just scripted the hot key system. The cool down effect is cool. I may throw that in too

Unless you plan to implement custom hotkeys you may also want to experiment with not giving buttons labels. The hotkey bar is pretty easily associated with keys 1-9(or 0) now without visual guidance so it may be unnecessarily cluttering the aesthetics. Think of games like Minecraft, which just have a hotkey layout and absolutely no labels. If you're worried new players will have problems, perhaps leave it as an option to hide/show labels.

Also for more help it may be useful to provide all the information you can as to what data is going to be shown on the HUD.
