Forced Battle Mode?
 
It has been proposed to me that we should make GK all battle mode for a week and see how it goes. At the end of the week, perhaps we could take a vote on making this a permanent change or not.

Or, instead of a permanent change there could be designated bmode only days of the week (ie. Saturday).

No I know how people are, which means they only going to lame the noobs. Which leads to playercount lose. It's better of how it is right now but yeh I might be better to put a bell for each kingdom on the main island so we don't have to travle big time to our kingdom island to ring the bell. Also make Kingdomless people able to go bmode, it's their choice to go all alone in bmode.

Sadly, I have to agree with LightDamage. Forcing bmode even for a week will cause many players to complain. New players that get lamed by higher level players are just going to log off and not return. Players trying to level will have to worry about other players interrupting them. For a community that we are trying to make bigger this will only be a step backwards. I think the way it is now is fine. Players have to choose to go bmode and then deal with the issues stated about and that is simply on them.

Bring back the Main Island bmode bell that used to be near Hirathia!Make it so you can only switch back once every 24 hours or once every week!

There used to be bells for each kingdom on Main Island,also before there was bells for each kingdom,there was 1 bell that everyone could hit and I believe it was somewhere to the left of Hirathia.

I'd have to say no to this also, it's just going to be laming the low level and defenseless people, bad idea. :(
But hey, I'm all for easier battlemode switch, but 24 hours/week is a bit much, you could just do an hour before switching modes.

You should make bmode fun (was it ever?) so players will actually want to be in it and get rid of the bell system and just make it a toggle (with restrictions so you can't flip flop at will) you can use in safe zones.

Just make it after level 45 you get toggled into bmode or if you're under 45 and you're above level 20 and outside trade for more 30 seconds you get toggled into bmode. If lower level players dont want to get pk'd they can just continue what thy are currently doing and idle in trade all day. I don't see why anyone would complain if all you scrubs do is idle all day anyways.

Level 45 is nothing, considering everyone just does agility or mental levels to get 107 instantly.

agility is fixed. mental takes tons of money. if you have the funds to get 107 mental you should have the funds to equip yourself for combat.

I'm all for forced bmode HOWEVER the item and plat drops on death need to be removed in that case. Maybe make fingers drop instead? Or some sort of trophy.

Knowing that a lot of people are already 107 phys I think the forced bmode level should be 54 or more. At 107 phys you can bile anyone who is lvl 53 or lower and that **** would just be lame.

This would be a great step in the right direction. Make gk fun again :cool:

This would be fun for players like ourselves... true. GK as a whole it would be a step backward. I am not going to type it all again... but read my post above.

If you remove the plat and item death penalty people won't actually quit because they died 8 times trying to get back to a safe zone.

Now why should you join a kingdom? Here's a reason: protection.
There are 2 big kingdoms at the moment and both are doing their best to recruit new players and make them stay in the kingdom. Why should they stay true to their kingdom? Forced bmode. New guy in my army trying to get stronger and some pissy dustari kid is trying to stop him from BUILDING MUSCLE? Bro it's time to rumble I'm going to send this dustari kid running back to his human posse. Fish people rock. Fish people help new bros.

Forced bmode makes people interact with each other. That's what we should strive for if we want a bigger and healthier community.

People usually join a Kingdom not always to protect themselves, this b-mode system wont change alot. Probally bring some newbies to kingdoms.

People wont quit? ye sure if they get harrased, what I mean is that for example u dont drop anything on era while u die but some "rich" people just kill these newbies for free frags.
On GK its gonna be the same.

People will always cry about getting lamed and such. Better make it possible to gain EXP from PKing. People will go bmode on their own and enjoy PKing again. No forcing needed.

The stronger players can stand there and just lame over and over and over. It will piss them off because they are being harassed. Forced bmode does make players interact with one another you are right... Forcing bmode will not make the community strive and become healthier.. if anything it will make it worse. Once again due to all of the stated reasons above.

Adding a min level and forcing bmode wont do this justice either. Level 54 Physique is a very low level for forcing bmode as well. The whole forcing anything is simply going to cause problems. We want to attract players to the server not force them to leave because of something like this.

You simply can't know if it would make the community better or worse until you try it out. Also I'm talking 54 base level as a minimum. That's just to prevent actual bile laming with death runes and such. If you feel 54 is too low then maybe make it 80? You have a base health pool of 280 at that level. If you had the time and gear to grind to level 80 you have the gear to fight off the big bad wolf when he comes for you.

Making everyone Bmode would be fun, perhaps add some factor such as lower leveled players immune unless they engage in some kind of battle

i say let people become bmode the old way, hitting bells so when they wanna pk or someone needs to be bmode quicker for joining battle.

people always run to houses to hide, and if they hi the bell to be pmode ti hide, it would be the same.

i agree with after lvl 80 you get forced bmode and also i think it would be rly nice to add some kind of reward for killing people instead of 400plat and a kill in profile, maby a pk coin sistem in which u trade these in a house for cool rewards, that would get people into pking and not just geting richer gambling and siting in trade

Nice idea, but it would take alot of time to accept this idea and then pull it into the game. You probally know how it works.

I'm interested in this if it is done right, maybe tack on a change to the different classes too? Boosted exp for the skill of your class type thing to encourage you to train more, get higher levels, and find yourself able to fight back eventually.

Like my post before mentioned, the best way is to give people a exp reward for killing a player, so for example if you kill someone with magic you get magic exp, and so on. Forcing people will never help. But with this reward we could make PK worth the time and again more Fun.

Well not everybody has a gold account, and if someone is abusing it we can track it back easily. The EXP wont be that high though. Could be a nice addition

I'm pretty opposed to having obvious and easily abused mechanics (and punishing players for abusing it). I'd rather see some sort of PK level or PK trophies that you can use to purchase cool looking clothes (YES PLZ) or auras. Rewarding players with visuals rather than power ya dig?

This would be a neat way to introduce new clothes and stuff.

I dont know why you guys are so worried about it? As I posted in my post above none of you leave trade so no matter what happens it will still be like a perm pmode. I think BMode past a certain level should be forced and since none of you actually leave trade I kinda feel like none of your opinons really matter.

Why not just allow people to set their respawn to the trade house or MMT, then you can take a second to change equips or heal up or whatever before jumping back into the fight. Rather than respawning in a pk area... that's just telling people to lame and can really screw over someone who simply lagged out or afked because they remain killable for the duration. Similar to every other server on Graal, as when you die you should respawn in a safe area to regain your bearings before continuing.

Then it wouldn't matter your level at all, because you would simply die once and then you can call in your kingdomites or whatever the hell you want to do to scare the person off, or just resume idling until they leave.

Laming the exits of these indoor respawns would be no different than laming the docks, so really nothing changes there, and that's the only drawback I can see. Of course you would still have the option of setting it at the docks and whatever.

Then perma-bmode it up.
