plz don't fix outbreak

it's a terrible event, all it's done in the past is stop ETs from hosting real events so noobs can play a 30minute long boring event. all it's doing presently is causing PRs to ignore people since they're busy doing idk what in outbreak levels
btw i love cod zombies, i almost got to wave 60..it's just outbreak that is slow and pointless

kia345 10-13-2012 11:13 PM

When I tried to play Era, Outbreak was the most fun thing.

I'd play a server centered around it/its mechanics. Fun times.

respectable idea, it simply doesn't fit in with era

shrimps 10-13-2012 11:27 PM

This event was pretty fun and one of my favorites when it came out, glad it's being fixed.

Dragon551 10-13-2012 11:35 PM

Why would you assume the event would just be deleted because you, of all people, don't like the event?

stahp pls

bloodykiller 10-14-2012 12:49 AM

nobody ever raids nowadays and a 30minute event is damaging for both gangs and players who want to play pk events, but you obviously don't understand these sort of concepts as you demonstrated in your oblivious management

No raids or PK events happen when you're online because they don't want you to join in, sry.

Outbreak = Future of era

Supaman771 10-14-2012 09:57 AM

They didn't really fix it, they more or less remade it.
I personally wouldn't consider it the same event, since the original concept is far from gone... the largest building is like 3 or 4 levels and they're all wide open, making hiding or building a fun base pretty difficult, especially since zombies can use projectiles.

Since everyone is now the same speed, and zombies can just be revived, your best bet is to run around and hope you don't lag (everyone being the same speed, you should [in theory] never be caught).

I'd personally classify it more as a race, or luck event... perhaps Lucky Grab Race-ish, since you just run around and hope you don't lag or get randomized as a zombie. Plus there's no prize so I'd have to partially agree with TK that it is a 30 minute waste of time.

Aside from 'agreeing' with him, I fail to see why the event should be removed or not hosted. Let the noobs have their fun, if they'd rather play a lucky grab race with no prizes than raid/pk... well then just accept the fact Era is dead and move on.

BlueMelon 10-14-2012 06:45 PM

Currently zombies get faster the more swat they kill, swats speed gets decreased the more then get hit. (They can heal with heal packs)

I plan on adding more to the event:
- A special med pack that only 3 swat at the start have that can revive a zombie into a swat
- An ability that can only be used once per round Ex: Swat could have a forcefield push effect and zombies can have some sort of adrenaline beast mode

We could also add more levels and more game modes.

As someone who doesn't know ****, this sounds like you're extremely over-complicating something that should be simple and arcade

shrimps 10-14-2012 07:46 PM

Forcefield push? Star Wars?!?!?!

Hey. I like the idea of a 2-D version of Left4Dead.

Its an event on a game server. Making it better is not over-complicating it.

salesman 10-14-2012 09:26 PM

can you still move objects around to create barricades? That was the best part!

bloodykiller 10-14-2012 11:35 PM

yes
i must admit this version of outbreak is far better, especially since it doesn't last so long

Frankie 10-16-2012 01:45 AM

is the new map the one I started but never finished because I suck at being staff?

I don't think so. Was yours just an outside with ass tons of trees and stuff? Cause that's what they're using.
It's not the one I started and never finished either.

Someone got their **** together apparently. :asleep:

WillaWonka 10-16-2012 02:34 AM

I'm having tons of fun with this new outbreak...

I'm looking forward to new events like this one right here, kinda brings a sense of simulation and RPG to it.

Why do you even bother making threads.. ? Just wondering, because it definitely seems like no one likes you nor listens to what you have to say. :noob:

i'm sorry i make you angry.
a critical aproach is what a server needs to improve, believe it or not i helped fix a lot of glitches and make era more enjoyable

dude2020 10-16-2012 11:41 PM

You mean you bugged the piss outta staff over small glitches and when they tried ignoring you to get actual work done, you go on a forum post rampage.

Constructive Criticism is what TK is all about.

bloodykiller 10-17-2012 01:03 PM

i didn't realise outbreak is a totally different event now, it takes a man to admit when he's wrong
and it's not my fault if staff ignores PMs and doesn't care about glitches but considers what's written on forums (since they want to look helpful to the eyes of PWA)

Zerith 10-17-2012 01:32 PM

how does this outbreak look like? screenies anyone? :]

Sorry about your issue, I'm not actually on client right now and I'm on a Mac anyway, so I can't actually help you with your level issue.

Works every time.

Everyone is not the same speed.
Zombies start out slower than SWAT and they speed up each time they bite someone.
The opposite is true of SWAT. Each time they are bit, they slow down.

I played the event one time, over a week ago, I was unaware of this.

However, it more or less just proves my point... if you're actually faster then just running away should be even more obvious than 'never get caught because same speed' when you can just outrun them.
Hope you don't lag or get bitten then? and you're gucci. In theory if every swat was on the same page of common sense, the zombies should never win.

Idiots and lag obviously make this impossible, but the concept is still there. It is a lucky grab race with no prize.
