To get your very own fishing rod, you'll need to locate the fishing shop where you'll be selling your fish. The shop is located below the car dealership on the docks (far right).

Hope you like it, I spent the last three hours fishing and It's fairly entertaining.

How are you supposed to catch anything with un-baited hooks that apparently float above the water (they don't even appear the contact the surface of the water).

The hook is actually supposed to be a bobber, but due to the fact that I use a Mac, I haven't been able to update it. I'm glad you like it though!

Looks like Notorious's fishing system.

Hopefully i can soon buy a boat, maybe a yacht or cruise ship, and float the ocean while fishing.. and then get attacked by pirates and robbed... ahh the future.

Smh... cars, helicopters, plasma firing rifles, and self contained nuclear devices... yet no boats.

That HUD for fishing is so tiny. :(

It actually took a couple of days to completely re-script it, and as always, go **** yourself.

Many servers have a similar fishing system.. there is only few ways to implement such thing. Look at UN for example.

Yeah, plus I've never even been on that server, nor would I play anything that's not on the classic list.

It honestly doesn't seem like much was changed from what Dan had finished. Then again, I haven't used Dan's in such a long time, but it still looks similar.

You make it sound like only servers that are on the classic list are entertaining/successful. Many servers that aren't on the classic list currently have great gameplay and features. If they ever were put on the classic list it's likely they would be a huge success, especially compared to a server like Era (which seems to be the server you're most "proud" of after being manager for a short while)

Agreed. But I guess PWA's choose anyone as a Manager now, even knowing their lack of skill in all, or the most important, Development area's. (I.E Scripting)

Managers are (at least in my opinion) not even supposed to develop. Tim did it anyway. Boo hoo.

@Alf, I don't play other servers that aren't on the classic list due to the fact I'd be a trial and have to deal with observer mode. Has nothing to do with being "proud", I honestly wouldn't go on any server other than Era, and Zodiac cause I prefer higher player counts.

As for fishing, I never had Dan's script since I couldnt get access to Era Dev, so I just went ahead and made a new one using a fishing bar with a bobber and hook. Nothing special, I simply wanted to make one last thing before I quit, a going away gift if you will.

Last I heard from Gabriel, which was a very long time ago, he was of the same opinion.

In theory, I'd agree that a manager doesn't need to develop, but in practice with such a limited set of players and developers, it's usually better if they can. The last few managers Era's had who couldn't develop ended up being train wrecks.

I mean in theory, yes, managers do not necessarily need development experience.

However, when looking at managerial candidates, developmental capabilities are big, big, big, big, big plus.

You need to know how the server runs to be successful and that usually comes with someone who has developmental knowledge and capabilities.

Also, who wants to spawn me a fish? I want to fit in and slap people, but leaving unstick me is way too much of a hassle.
