Are these kind of applications really the best way to hire staff? Anybody with a brain can ace the questions, but that doesn't mean they'd make a good staff member.

I'd think with such a small community you'd be able to select people from personal experience who would be a good match without reading the obligatory bs responses to these questions.

@Chris,

Very true, when I did this on Era to get development staff, it was 98% mock applications. After I closed it, I then got people asking if they could be a developer, those were the ones that actually had some decent skill. But I guess we are not talking about development here.

Still tests that they care enough to file an application. It's more important than you'd think.

With such a small community I think these gatekeeper measures are unnecessary.

In my term as Events Admin I'd choose an Events Master based upon their actions as a player, after further investigation/approval I'd offer them a job as a trainee and teach them how to host.

Was my events team not up to par? This isn't the place for criticism, it's an application thread, but I absolutely kept an active team, and I hired members with trust-- because of this I never had any abuse. Only at one point an Events Master abused, one of my most trusted EM's spawned 65 Event Coins, I found out within the hour and ONLY YOU benefited from it, seeing he bought your Easter Basket with the spawned event coins.
