Hey guys I'm making a waterfall down some cliffs, but I'm having some trouble making the transitions into the waterfall look smooth...anybody have some tips on to what tiles i should use?

Your cliff isn't using straight edge tiles which makes the waterfall appear as if it's coming out of thin air rather than the water above it. The cliffs above with the waterfall is fine and you should do something similar to that. The waterfall transitions from and to deep water so you should make more use of the deep water tiles.

Ah, thank you sir. I was beginning to think asking for help was a lost cause. :)

No problem! ;) Don't worry, the Graal Forum is not so active as you might think. It takes a little more time for people to reply. Also a lot of members would rather read than reply.

Ah I see....
How is this? A little better? I'm having trouble with the 2nd waterfall's transition :(

I suggest using these 2 tiles, which are part of the waterfall.

1. Is located between the church tiles, and the hedge (bush).

2. Is in the same location as all the other waterfall tiles, near the top.

Trying to make the grass, cliff, and water all join together is quite hard. Personally I use 1 tile images to put them all together. (which I have done in the image attached)

Personally, maybe i'm to much of a realist, but I think it's odd to see a waterfall come from such a small amount of water/pond? Need a bigger source.

You're missing a path corner tiles too - and I would probably suggest a little more detailing on the grass and such. (though not crazy)

I agree with Ducati's suggestion, and I too am I realist myself. I forgot to mention that your waterfall is missing another transition tile, but Ducati covered it.

Ah thank you guys. And yeah those levels are just the basic outlines for now, I haven't gotten much into detail with them yet. But I appreciate those tips, Ducati :)

Any chance you have a pics1 version of those images I could use? I'm no good with images.

Here you go. It's pretty hard finding some tiles, but it's actually quite fun. Try to familiarize yourself with the entire tileset.

I have the pics1.png lol I am very familiar with it, except for the exception of cliffs and adding waterfalls to them. I've been leveling since 2003, and never decided to try and learn to work with cliffs. I actually recently stumbled upon WanDaMan's cliff tutorial, and help levels. They have really helped me out alot. I was asking for the 1-tile image he uses at the top of the waterfall. Thank you, though.

If you look more closely, the image he posted points out where to find the 1-tile image you're looking for on pics1!

I think he means the ones I use to join the grass, cliff and water together.
I don't have them - but shouldn't be to hard to make up. I'll see if I can do it a lil bit later :)
