Server NPCS? Interaction, multiple?

So there is the NPC Server which doesn't do anything visual wise, and can be programmed to do things if you message it, that is fine. I believe you can change its name too? Never messed with the NPC Server.

My question is, can you put a name on the player list, and have it react to PMs also?

For instance for a quest, you might call him when you get to somewhere and in the level an npc character would walk in, or to you from somewhere. Perhaps other interactions such as that by messaging them.

The NPC Server is only one, and I am thinking about one or two. I doubt Shaded Legends would like its NPC-Server's NPC name changed.

Please learn how to post concisely so it's easier to understand what you're trying to say.

No, you cannot add fake players that respond to PMs. I suppose you could hack something into the playerlist GUI but I wouldn't recommend it. You can respond to PMs to the NPC-server, though.

It seems you were able to understand exactly what I was saying in my sixteen word question o.O;;.. Thank you.

I guess the NPC-Server will have to do.. I suppose I could ask Cujo if we can change its name to something human like.. I believe I've seen one server give it a head too.

Also, last question I hope, is it possible to change the head and name client-side?
Lets assume your client attribute is 2, it would show something, then later on if client attribute is 5 it would change.. ?

We don't delete threads that are "solved" around these parts of the forums.

They should change the rules then. They shouldn't delete semi-important threads that are solved. I highly doubt many people ask that question or try to use it as a way to incorporate it into a fake player for quests.

If somebody came on to the forums with the same question you had, and found this thread, then their question would be answered. If they came on here and found a deleted thread with a title that signified the answer they were looking for, they'd just be ticked off.

I encourage "search before post".

I agree, however, once again, I doubt anyone would try to do it if they have had to option to ask in the last 7 years since the NPC server has been out since 2005 (I forgot the exact date), I doubt they would ask now.

I don't want to sound egotistical, but I feel I'm a unique case. That or an ignorant one.

What ARE you talking about? I suggest you read my post again, because I was in no way saying that we ARE deleting solved posts.

You really need to get better at posting in a way that you can be understood.

I had more to say to you Zero, but I decided what you said was too unimportant. You emphasized the word 'are' which doesn't make sense, and are speaking for a whole population yet can't analyze well..

I'll just say that I never stated that you said "we" did delete posts.
Only that mine was unimportant and should be deleted. :noob:

Thank you for coming in only to say 'we' don't delete threads though, I'll try to remember that even though I've seen otherwise... in other parts of these forums.

You sir, can not read (or type seemingly). Also, it's Ziro, not Zero - seems you're the one with the facts wrong.

Well, you have not proven any 'facts' wrong, but I must apologize for getting your name wrong, I have a friend on here named ZeroG so at first glance I wrote Zero. Sorry, that was not intentional. :(

I can, however, assure you that I am very literate, and can type, or I would not be replying to you. If I couldn't I probably would not have been able to create an account on this forum, nor reply to the same topic as you. :p
I did go to college, and I am currently going to a university so I can understand the confusion you might have. I also know I type a lot. ;]

For future reference, facts are truths.

But in all seriousness, why are you trying to debate about a thread being deleted when I said that it should be?
Since the first time I did ask, I have not done so again.

I did however say that it should be because it is most likely unimportant to anyone.

(Saying it should me is not the same as asking for it to be in case you are wondering.)

Hi. :D

Anyway, my question was answered, thanks again for those who actually did take the time to come in and help.
Thanks to the others who took the time to come in and debate or try to start something.
I can't say this thread is important to me anymore, so I won't be responding. ^.^;
