So let me get this straight: You're asking someone who has neglected their server to let you run it, make things on it, and you expect that it'll stick around? It's likely neglected for a reason, and that reason is unlikely to prompt them to pay for it again, therefore you'll lose everything anyway.

Make your own server on your own account. Much more reliable that way. I also disapprove of you asking others for their server, but as servers like Testbed started almost exactly this way, I doubt it's against any rules. Tig would need to weigh in on this.
