Very nice :D

Its not bad, kinda plain. The house doesn't really make sense structure wise even with the style you are using. Try a different roof top

I was having troubles with the roof but I think I made it better.

The design is so hard to replicate in real life it fits more into the old classic genre rather then the modern genre, straighten out your roof a bit and it'll look alot better! Also get a different set of tiles for your walls so you get more contrast between both your walls and the roof.

The area surrounding the house is too empty as well. So you've still got a bit more filling in to do wether it be some kind of garden or more trees. Perhaps get some trash going :0

papajchris 12-20-2011 04:18 AM

I don't think it's that bad.

BlueMelon 12-20-2011 05:18 AM

Not bad at all! A few awkward spots but easily fixable!

Ducati_Link 12-20-2011 02:21 PM

Can't say I like the tileset.

era levels are ugly in general due to their tileset

Era levels are more structured on the npcs rather then the tiles. So it is possible
to create a decent looking level. It's just harder when compared to using aekos tiles for example.

The concept is good, but the visual is really blocky and I think what you wanted to create and what actually appears on this level are two entirely different things. It's not bad, but just remember that it's not a race. Take your time on it. Watch your walls and your corners. With a bit of work, you could fix it up nicely! I'm sure of it! Don't give up.

Hi there!

Instead of saying this looks, "nice" or this looks "horrible" I'm going to help you correct what is "wrong" in your level. I still don't like their tileset and as former posts said a lot of era levels are made from images. So honestly the more you dig into your era images folder youll find more useful tools for your pallet. But a good level still compliments images as well...being a former Era Levels Admin ages ago, hopefully these tips will help ya!

EYE PERCEPTION - Building levels in graal requires ONE very important thing -almost the most important. Perception. As graal has a fixed view you need to stay in the limits of that. On your roof tiles I marked you can either do one of two things. Shift the whole garage upwards 3 tiles or shift the back of the roof down 3 tiles. You want to keep a consistent eye perception in every level.

CONSISTENCY - When I look at this, it appears to be 1 building with juts and a second floor. In the Pink squares why not try making the 2nd square filled with straight roof tiles so it looks like a seamless line under the other accented juts.

Try taking out one tile in each white outlined section - Again its all about eye perception. If it doesn't look like try removing just one out of the left square.

DARK EDGES - Be weary...of where you use them. They can draw A LOT of attention in areas such as that. Dark edges also usually dignify where a player CAN'T walk over. But if used tastefully they can be used as boarders. The connection from the sidewalk to the "outline" of the driveway doesn't flow. Maybe try pushing the bushes over ontop of the left boarder? Just to see how it looks. Or switch the boarders so the black line is against the dark gray to dignify the dip in the driveway from the sidewalk.

DOOR FRAME - Again Doors look better with frames around them. It gives them a sense of being there. Also though - as the building it is part of you could just make the garage the width of the driveway or make it a 2 car garage as I know that's a set image. If you choose to keep it one I'd either frame the door or shrink the garage and driveway width.

Windows- I don't know if this is 100% your fault but Windows always look better with boarders. You can get away in some aspects without them like the window near the garage..But overall windows look better with boarders
