I agree that it's an evil attempt, but people in general should be more careful.
If they regard this kind of pm as serious, they might take Mr. Odunga from Nigera as true in Spam E-Mails, too. Offering you a big share of money if you send a small amount at first.

Take this time and login with plenty of fake usernames and passwords. His inability to setup a phishing site probably reflects his inability to write a proper php script.
