Era Disconnection

Hi, Era is my favorite server. Yet for some reason I can't log on. No my client isn't banned. And I can log on all other servers, just not Era. Can someone please help.

Doesn't Era disconnect you if your ping is higher than a certain number?

Not that I know of, or Zach

Your Firewall might not allow you to connect, although that wouldn't makes sense if you could connect to other servers. There are a number of things you could do.

It's probably a good idea to restart your router or unblock some ports. Not really sure. What did the connection error even say?

Are you disconnected as soon (most often an IP Ban) as you log in? or does it sit there Connecting (Networking Issue) before it says you've been disconnected?

Please try the suggestions in my post:

Provide or (PM me) results for the ping, and tracert commands.

Can you log on Era with a guest account?

It works at my friends house, not mine. It automatically disconnects me if I log in at my house.

No, only at a friends house or else automatic disconnection in a matter of mil-seconds I log in.

Bottom Line:
I could be IP banned but I have no idea/reason why. Its definitely abuse if I have an IP ban. Also, I've just checked my ban history and most of them are not even noticeable for me, like I don't even know that I can't log in a server...

No, it might not be. Ask a staff member to check. You may fall into a ban meant for somebody else (a lot of staff members tend to ban 1.2.*.*, which is way too broad for an IP ban in most cases).

You win the cookie, thats what happened. I've changed the IP ban to a less broad scale. Astram should be able to log on now.

Why don't ip bans return a specific error instead of "Could not connect?"

I dunno, I wish they did. If you're fairly new at this sort of thing you often don't even think to check that reason for someone not being able to log in.

Outside of the fact it confuses the daylights out of you when you're trying every fix known to mankind to determine why you can't login, lol.
