Android app for RC
 

so would it be so nice if the players can log on rc threw a iphone app or a andriod app so they still can check pms respond if theres a big problem managers can update scripts or whatever they would know more about whats going on with there server.. anyways just a idea express ur thoughts about it plz

I could see some benefits comming from this but its more an excuse for people to be lazy. People don't need this imo, and besides there are more pressing things for stefan to focus on.

It would be a nice luxury, but there are other needs that should be focused on instead, especially since it would only benefit a small number of people, and those people wouldn't get much benefit from it at all.

No need for it. RC is an administration tool; the chat could even be outsourced to an IRC channel or something similar. Then you'd be left with an app for file up-/downloads and scripting stuff, which would be entirely useless.

idk i just thought the andriod app would be out by now. but i think stefan still doing it all in java still ?

The players going for development positions will need computers. Also, who doesn't have one these days? Mobile RC ports are just not needed.

I already tried creating a very simple interface for the Client-RC for use with iPhone, and I had access to it for a fair amount of time, and made practically no use of it whatsoever. For one thing, editing scripts on a touchscreen keyboard is painfully difficult, there isn't enough screen estate to properly look at player attributes and to have an app just for RC chat and PMs is pointless (remember that RC is not just a social network).

Yes scripted RC is working on iPhone & co but most work involves editing scripts or uploading of level files or so, so it wouldn't be very helpful. It can however be interesting for the future, e.g. on iPad.

Why also add the upload/editing stuff? I´d be already happy if you could just check over with RC and you could be more often contacted if anyone would need any help

If you really need RC that bad why not just remote your computer with your phone? ;0

There's a TeamViewer app for iPhones, I know that much.
