Remote Control - Blinking??

This IS a bug, but it's also an EASY fix. People are attempting to log into remote control with their community names. IT does work, but when you log onto the server you're working at & you "have" NC rights, it will keep saying you don't "It'll keep flashing"... It's an easy fix. Just use your Graal###### to log into RC instead of your community name.

thanks!! rep++

that explains the weird "flashing" you told me..

so to sum'it up, for the slowmoes
DON'T USE YOUR COMMUNITY-NAME ON RC (in general).

We learn something new every day. Thanks for figuring that one out. I've had multiple people coming to me to fix that and I tried everything I could think of but nothing worked. All the people that came to me with it had windows7 64 bit so I could only think it had something to do with that.

It was happening to me on Mac when using my email to login a while back, and it took quite a while to find the reason for it. I'm glad somebody posted this.

I think I've actually updated the servers to display a warning message when logging into email to NC :D
It's not that easy to resolve right now so it's better to login to the account name as staff.

One thing I did notice was that when I did "/openrights MattKan", it told me I was not authorized to view other players rights. (I had to do "/openrights Graal#######) instead. I just thought I'd mention this because I saw that community names were generally working on RCs now, (which is definitely a fantastic thing) and the same problem could probably be happening in other areas of RC.

You can just do: /openrights

To open your own rights as well.

That might fix his own problem but if someone tries to open someone else's rights by using their community name, from what he said, it won't work.

Don't think it's related. I bet if he got the rights to "change rights", he could've used "/openrights Mattkan" as well.

If you don't need "change rights" to view your own rights, he should've been able to use his community name to view his own rights.

I'm aware it's not the solution to the problem. It's stuff like this that makes you question why it's just getting fixed now when the system has been around for years now.

MattKan 07-03-2011 07:16 PM

I was just saying that because I thought there could be similar problems, elsewhere. I'm not RC Master, but yeah.
