New event /event item ideas.
Sooo I'm on player right now, decided to get on ETA tag and mass out (OH NO) and ask if anyone had event or event item suggestions. some people had some pretty cool ones, so i'm reposting them here.
I'd like everyone's opinions on each event and item, if you're willing. poison purge from UN, but redone. (players choose a bottle to drink, pray to get water and not poison. poisoned players die and are kicked. last standing wins.) random spar --random guns for each player, but each player has the same gun (2 people are put in, :start is typed, a weapon is randomly generated (lets say MK23's) and the two players have to fight using those) "another suggest, sum people are in cars and others walking (cant use weaps), the people in cars has to kill (by drivin over)the people walking. There would be time for players in cars to kill the one walking . soo if the car team wins, the best player of it earns a ec, and if sumone walkin has survived, he gets an ec =]" event item: Rc car you can control. disco ball that illuminates an area with disco-like lights fishing event (all players catch a fish, biggest wins) race with RC cars. marco polo/hide n seek Hold the briefcase (All players warped into a level. if you hold the briefcase, you get points, one per second. If you die, you drop the briefcase, and someone else picks it up. most points at the end of a certain time, or first person to reach a point cap wins) --Kudos to any of you who remember this from n64 perfect dark :) "jump rope? a giant jump rope, everyones in the middle and presses A to jump. the jump rope gradually goes faster, players who are tripped loses, last person standing wins!" "land mines? your in the desert like iraq with land mines all over the place and you have to run to the other side, whoever steps on a mine dies and loses, whoever makes it to the safe zone wins" |

On a side note: Fishing is such a blatantly obvious system that should be on a modern server like Era. The fact that there isn't one probably doesn't support the chances of a fishing event being made. Quote:

I would like to reiterate that only two of those ideas were mine, one of which being the hold the briefcase event, and the other being the marco polo suggestion (but not the hide and seek alongside it), and that these were mostly direct quotes.
As for the just being like russian roulette - yes. but aren't chance and explosive chance the same thing in the end? The fishing event could be modified with a time limit and the ability to discard the fish you caught, and catch a new one. And something would have to be added so that it's not just random..some skill element. @HTB..I got that idea from perfect dark :D yay n64 jump rope i like the sound of, personally. Yes, it needs work. |
A reenactment of WWII's D-Day, where all the joining players are equipped WW2 weapons of there choice (Of course all guns will be balanced just for that game, outside the weapons are still the same) And they have to attack from the beach onwards.
Or something more modern like the US Army vs Another opposing team (Terrorist, Russians, Chinese, etc) Where the Army is the attacking team and they must go in a (CQB) level to fight there way, with a mixture of large rooms to small rooms. And the goal is to get the Army (comrade) and THEN to make it even more interesting, the opposing team begins to spawn OUTSIDE the building (acting like reinforcements) and you must fight your way back out and back into the helicopter. For further interest you can pair up 6 Professional Eranians up as the Army Special Forces, and they face 8+ of the "lesser" pkers. I can keep on coming with these idears. |

spar one is cool car 1 is ok add the one chris vimes made (gun upgrades, like cod gun game) era needs more pk events, we already have waaaaaay to many non-pk events..idc if u dont like to pk, make fkn pk events so events can actually be fun lmao |

My opinions aside, both types of events are obviously always being considered (and i love pk'ing, i'm just horrible at it!) Chris' vimes gun game is an amazing piece of work, and i am flabbergasted as to why nobody has fixed it up. I will push for its release again, sometime. Gotta catch alf in a good mood |

I think roleplaying events like the WW2 / Terrorists sounds awesome... The closest event we have to that is outbreak where every player is assigned a certain body and head to play along with the event. But yeah, what about making "classes" for these events so that players could decide which guns they would like to use?

Fancy ideas, but until we're finished with the planned major updates, I doubt it can be focused on, for awhile. However, I'd still advise that they be constructed in more detail for the future. Nicely done, Scoper. /high5
