I'm no expert at this stuff, but I think in needs a bit more happening. Cliffs or something in the top left corner, maybe? I dunno.

Buuuuut, good level :D

I like it, no comment

Its okay, everything is a bit grouped though. You should have some bushes around those trees at the top for starters, this would make it look better imo. Also while some people might not care you have some cliff tile errors so you should fix them sometimes, also those grass edge tile errors are jumping out and hurting my eyes so look into that as well... Other then that every feature in this level has a great shape so its a nice start! Keep at it :)

lol it would be consider good in 2000 but its not in style no more that leveling style but good for beginners

I could never really understand the whole straight dirt path conecpt, seeing as grass isn't really 'uniform' and doesn't grow in straight lines.
Another thing I notice about your level is that the deep water just seems to cut off at the waterfall, which looks a little weird.
Other than that, the level is nice, but could do with a bit more detail.

You've never seen a dirt road?

A decent level for a beginner is what it is, but I personally find it refreshing to see a singular outside level attempt posted that while lacking unique features doesn't look exactly the same as the typical cliffs/waterfall/stream/sand/trees.

I also believe that something not being "in style" doesn't necessarily mean it is out-dated, plus what seems to be "in style" happens to have been around for quite a long time now.

I think it´s kind of an easy made. This is for me a typical offline editor level with the grass path and so on. Could need a lot of work.

fowlplay4 06-11-2011 08:32 PM

I think if you really want to improve give yourself a bigger canvas and attempt to make something with purpose. I.e: 2x2 GMAP.

Twilikari 06-11-2011 10:01 PM

I guess I haven't ever tried making something for a purpose.. PROBABLLY should have done that before now.. Thanks for all of the advice!

must spread rep around first :(

Bubble13 06-12-2011 04:39 AM

I think it's nice, but it can use a bit more detail.

Kamaeru 06-12-2011 07:54 PM

I like it, just a few tile errors is all.

kabouter 06-16-2011 12:54 PM

In my opinion there is to many detail, such as grass tiles, mushrooms, etc. This makes the level to 'busy'.

I don't like these sandpath tiles, I'd prefer the other tiles, simply because there are more tiles and opportunities. And get rid of all those rocks in the path.

The cliffs are ok, nothing special. Fix the tile errors.
