Preppable Wands

Just curious, why are there Improve Intelligence/Power/Wisdom scrolls out there if it would be absolutely pointless to add any of those stats to a weapon as far as actual combat goes? It would be nice if wands were capable of being prepped. It could require certain magic levels/wisdom levels such as physique is with prepping weapons.

It would at least give magic users some thing to look forward to, and it would help players who actually need the extra stats but can't find the right items.

Mages with 540 hp no ty

could be limited to int pow and wisdom, thats all i'd want to prep on a wand anyways

idk prep +2 power +2 wis and you can use rows as mage. feels op

Well look at it this way. Magic and prayers are strong, really strong if you can get 30 power and a decent level. A melee weapon NEEDs to be prepped full of IWDs with only a few stats if any depending on what gear you have.

Now since wands don't need any sort of IWD they could just stack 26 slots full of power, wisdom, dex, strength and con and be a totally unstoppable. Not to mention stacking all the power and wisdom stats onto a weapon would mean they don't need to wear magic rings and so on so they could use more speed gear. A mage running around with 30/30/30 str, dex, con. 30 power and wisdom AND with speed of 6+ they would be so overpowering.

Well, there could be limitations as to how many scrolls you can use per wand, like instead of having 26 improvements as with melee weapons, you could cut it down to 5 or whatever.

Still not a good idea. Mages are very flexible stat wise already, not having to level magic past 18, not having to rely too heavily on Pow, or Int at all. Mages pretty much just need to focus on Dex and speed currently, which is sad. Allowing them to become even more stat adaptable is a painful thought.

So, why are there improve wisdom/power/int scrolls? Lol, I can't understand how they would be useful.

It becomes a lot easier to understand if you take a look at how many other useless items/spells we have.

If we stack 26 slots of power wisdom dex... that's probably 12600 GK's. If you think that's OP'd for the price and time it takes to collect, that's nuts.

Good idea. Maybe make it a bit more expensive to prep a slot on a wand (dias, and potions)

i'd like to be able to prep atleast dex and str... so you can have more speed and heavy items.. why should bows be prepable and wands not?

You don't get the benefit of more Dex and Str because you chose to become a mage instead of a warrior.

To be an effective warrior you need to have expensive items (RoWs, Gale, prepped weapons, etc. depending on your build), be very high level physique, and carry multiple weapons.

To be an effective mage/priest you can use inexpensive gear and you aren't required to be level 80+ to kill people. The drawback is that you can't have high strength.
