Newly purchased server contains old content
 

The server name is Dev Vinka

If you dont feel like reading, the server is chaos because of being reused.

I was really bored today, so I decided to log on to a bunch of UC servers. I logged onto one, and found one purchased 1 hour ago. the owner new almost nothing about how to make a server.

Anyways, it seems that the server has been "recycled" from a previous server and never cleared. Old GUI menus and HUD's replace the default ones. Swords dont work. Some old manager appears on the staff list in server options. For some reason, he cannot add me as an admin to fix these problems, and it looks like he is doing it right. He can't log on via External rc, only the one that you press f6 to open while in the client.
What it sounds like is the server needs to be restored to defaults.
Any help would be appreciated. also, the owner never bought a server before.

I fixed the problem by restarting the npc server.

We also found that the server owner has an admin level of 0 so can't call /global servercontrol restart.

Restarting the npcserver only removed the scripts (they weren't really on the server because the weapons/,scripts/ folders etc were empty) but the other problems still exist.

The owner has full rights, but the restarting via /global servercontrol is currently bugged, will look into it.

Thank you, but my admin is still level 0? Shouldn´t it be higher as the owner?
The root of the problem still isn´t fixed right? Cyan said something about the server being connected to an older server..
And I still cannot add RC to other people I believe... quite frustrating.

Why did this occur in the first place? Getting my first playerworld was already confusing at it is...
Has this happened before?


I would also like to ask you if you could change the server name to ´Europa´, I would deeply appreciate it :)

And also, I tried downloading the external RC for my mac.. But it keeps freezing the client just before it's finished downloading. Then I have to cmd + q it, after restarting Graal when I try to download it again, it says it's already downloaded and installed, but it's not.

Is this a known bug?

I'm running a Macbook White with version 10.5.8

Ok renamed and restarted the server. The global command /global servercontrol is working again.

Hey Stefan, sorry to revive this, but the servername got changed back to Dev Vinka without any notifications..? Is it because I had set it to staffonly for just 1 day?

I just opened it again, and it hasn't changed back. Will this automatically change back, or will I have to wait for you to change it again? (If that's the case, could you rename it back please)

It was renamed after the last server update.
You can check server updates here

Setting the server to staff only will in no way change the server name.
Send an email to [email protected] to get it renamed back. :)
