how to "fix" UN
stop acting like UN was anything more than a "fun server"
un doesnt need plans it doesnt need fancy systems it doesnt need a stupid economy UN was so successful because it was the most unprofessional piece of **** server. and guess what? it worked, it survived throughout the years, and constantly had a high playercount (the highest for a long time too) how to fix un? let LATs take care of levels lets NATs take care of npcs let GATs take care of graphics let them all release their respective contents. nat uploaded a slightly abusive npc? LOL SO WHAT, it's just UN. that isnt to say hire bad staff. no, never. but if a good scripter is sitting there not doing anything because he doesnt have a holy "developer" (aka sit on ur ass do nothing and still have full control of the server) tag + rights, then there's a problem. ty that is all |
Also, make sure you get your pets spayed or neutered.

I understand the motivation behind this idea, but there is a problem with it. Namely, when UN implodes every couple of months due to a "staff/power being a part of the game" idea, it's the PWA that need to intervene, and they are a global resource which shouldn't really be stuck handling stuff like that, in some ideal world.
I think in the end the staff should be some people who are actually serious about things. Maybe the real solution here is to move most divisions out of "staff". ;) |
I don't the PWA is actually intervening though, last time would have been when Streety was appointed and there's basically been nothing since then.
It's strange since it seems that Era has had the PWA remove a few managers in a row or are much more active in patrolling what happens there, but maybe the PWA figures UN isn't worth the time. |
pwa thought right.
