How would you do it?
How would you mine? How would you fish? How would you woodcut?
How would you do it? All the answers will help Luna into becoming a better server :) Thanks everyone! :pluffy: |
If you're talking about how someone would implement jobs in a playerworld, I would do it as little as possible.
Try to make jobs a mini-game, not a job. Jobs to collect money aren't fun, but mini-games to collect money are fun. :)
I'd rather have a rock that mined in 5 hits and gave me 1 gralat over a rock that you have to hit 50 times to get 10 gralats.
I'd rather have a rock that mined in 5 hits and randomly gave me either 2 gralats or no gralats over a rock that you have to hit 5 times to get 1 gralat.
I'd rather just hit once.
I would say this, Do not make jobs a miniature game. Instead of making things quicker or smoother make them give a sense of accomplishment instead of the feeling you have only inched along a system that will leave you longing for jobs always end up pissing me off and leave me more irked than entertained.

Oh I know! There should be achievements for let's say, mining 50 diamonds. You would get the achiecement, What's this shining rock?. So, the fact that you get a reward for it, makes it funner. Also, Tig has a good idea. But if you could please reply, what kind of minigames? And for the achievement that I noted previously, you would get the reward of 700 gold. :)

Mining Quests where a Weaponsmith requests minerals from you and rewards you with a specific prototype of a weapon that is made with that...dunno
As long as you can do something worth while with the stuff from mining, fishing, woodcutting. Then anything could be fine.
Hmm.
