A Thoroughly Dead Horse
 

The title reference is to my drawing skills. I haven't been actively drawing for the better part of 9 months, and now I am attempting yet another come back. I have come up with this tree but I cant quiet finish it. I have never drawn leaves with any amount of detail in the past and now I am turning to you guys for advice.

Ew, a tree is trying to make a sexual advance on us. Don't want.

I like the outline, its pretty sexy if you ask me.

Don't really like how the wood part of the tree seems shaded quite differently compared to the leaves.

Get rid of the furthest tree root on the right side, and move the top of the tree over to the left, it looks like it's leaning.

Add some more colors on the top part, go to town! I know I did.

The trunk and the leaves don't seem to flow. I'm not smart enough graphics wise to give you a reason why.

Hmm, I like the style, but the trunk is kinda odd.

Yeah I got ahead of myself a bit with the trunk detailing i have actually been reworking it quiet a bit to follow up on the critiques. I think the main thing is I'm trying out a new style that I don't fully understand and I'm getting over my head a bit. But once I get some of these suggestions plugged in to the drawing ill post another version for further critiquing.
