Eryst: Hiring!

Eryst is a new server with a classic setting.

The goal set is to make Eryst's game-play include levels and classes, along with new concepts that focus on the player's weapon. When the player enters the server, he or she will choose a class to start off as and a weapon of their choice (i.e. a scythe, a sword, a staff, dual wielded daggers, etc.). They will also be allowed to name their weapon, and when they level up they will be able to upgrade their weapon with the points they gain. Of course, this isn't all we have planned, but it gives you a good taste of what revolutionary ideas Eryst will institute.

Sadly, to make this happen we need your help!
Our focus right now is finding game-play scripters and graphics artists to help create the game-play system and the images needed for menu's and such.
We are also hiring level's team members to help us fill our very large over-world.

If you would like to apply you can contact me at [email protected], or on skype. My skype name is RegretZanza. You can usually find me on Eryst from 5:00 - 10:30 EST, and I will post my manager's information here as soon as possible.

Yours truly,
Regret

very large over-world.

Sounds like Zodiac combined with weapon upgrading. (I first thought of the old ps2 game 'Dark Cloud' where you had one main weapon and upgraded it as the game play commenced, making it more unique and powerful)

I think you should start small for an overworld though. Zodiac breaks 100 players daily and still only very few specific places are inhabited by people at any given time. Plus 2 (or 3?) of the islands are completely empty or inaccessible, along with a percentage of empty buildings. And the map is ~75% water.

Well we are going to start off only working in a certain area, then move outwards and expand.

i agree, a small overworld can achieve anything a large overworld can and contrary to belief it can be expanded upon if you're creative enough. If you're up for some reading you should check this out.

im very annoyed by this, the whole tileset that is, is a edit of dustys tileset with different grass, dirt, water, and trees, this has been Project Andors tileset for months now. also "ironicly" the server idea is the same, a zodiac copy with leveling. Andor is pretty dead, but that doesn't change the fact that your server used the terrain tiles from the edit. they may not be very good tiles but they still are my tiles which i made ONLY for use on PROJECT ANDOR. Gee, now how could this have happened? the reason why so many staff members were fired on andor, leading to the servers death was images and scripts being given to other servers.. i wish i hadn't had to post this but it everytime i went on the server to ask it to change i was PKed by your staff, and not to mention i've been pateint and given you guys over 1 and a half weeks of notice that it isnt yours. thanks.

This server sounds about as interesting as the Kardashians excluding their glutteus maximuses.

stuff.

You shouldn't be worrying about your tileset that much. Since it's based on project andor, we all know how far this will go.

You guys got that tileset from FateDog, who apparently also found it free. Talk to him about it. Just saying.

*Sigh*.. One does NOT simply walk into Andor...

Well I'm sorry if we did. I didn't choose it, and I heard mixed stories about where it came from. We're currently getting a new tile-set made anyways, hope you feel better. :/

DemonSpawnn 11-05-2010 08:56 PM

its just extremly annoying when i see people claim others work as their own this tileset was an edit of dustys i made. and fatedog i assume did what everyother staff member on andor did before they were fired take something with them that wasnt theirs.
