What is the best way to keep a server running and up too good standard?

A set of redundant power supplies helps, staying up to date as far as security patches and upgrades are concerned, and using strong passwords. For the most part you should be able to easily provide 99.9% up time on your server.

Don't have a kid, if you're managing a server.

Pay your electric bill. :p

Notable mention to avoid tripping over the wire.

Plan your servers future and have due dates.

You need to make a VERY detailed outline for your server and start assigning work to your staff. give them a deadline and if they don't keep up with it, fire them. Also the outline is used because you cant make a successful server if you dont even no what u want. So plan it out and you already have a better chance than most servers.

Those damn ethernet cables get everywhere.

Get a staffteam + ideas what you want to do on the server before you buy server time

or else you will fail hard :O like many servers here on graal
