Windows 7 FPS Lag [Laptop]

On era whenever I check my lag (saying "showlag") My MS is always 60-200 and my FPS is like 9-15. So i'm wondering how I can increase my fps so I don't lag anymore?

I've come to notice that MS lag makes you lag bullets and FPS lag makes you walk slow. The ideal FPS is 20-23.

Any suggestions?

Max FPS is 20. Don't know why it sometimes reports more for people.

For some reason my Graal runs faster if it's maximised than if I just manually stretch the window out to the size of my screen.
Also try disabling Lights, Particles and Weather.

Lights, particles, and weather are disabled. My FPS is still low. I move slow at 19 FPS (it randomly jumps up and down). I'm only normal speed if my FPS is 20 or more.

The "max" is 20 but it's running every 0.05 seconds and it's not too precise so it's possible to get 21, although there's a glitch in the script which gives everyone an extra frame. It's possible to get to 22 though at times.

Say "showscriptstats", press F2, click the scripts tab, and laugh at Chris Vimes.

And it's really of nobody's fault. Graal seems poorly optimized in the first place.

other then the movement system it doesn't seem to be that bad?
PHP Code:

1. 13.032161908 Weapon -MoveSystem
2. 1.007264889
Gani Player DrSteve
3. 0.644358431
Weapon -GUI
4. 0.490042728
Weapon -System
5. 0.362071157
Weapon -Serverlist

by #20 it's around 0.05%

Era is the only server I have trouble with regarding lag.

It helps when I play in fullscreen, not sure why. Also, disable lights particles and weather if you haven't already.

The showscriptstats thing was a joke. And like I said; Graal is poorly optimized, and pretty dated.

So any suggestions to raise FPS?

Strange. I wonder why the movement system is at 13%.

Fulg0reSama 08-25-2010 07:03 PM

13%? Even I think that's crazy. N-Pulse doesn't even have scripts that go 5%.

12171217 08-25-2010 07:13 PM

13% for a movement system is pretty exorbent, and Era's movement system is pretty meh, but for the sake of argument, let's all assume it handles various other functions besides movement in one WNPC.

And the percentages; surely they're more relative than we can simply compare one server to another, being tested by two different users on two different machines?

It does. I'm just worried because I coded some of it. I must admit, though, that I do not know what was added since then. When I was stress testing it, I never got beyond 4%; neither did my test subjects.

The movement system isn't, it's calling the nick system as well as some others and it gets thrown in since it's called in the onTimeOut function. If you call another function first or trigger the nick system, it's much lower (I've tried this on Era).

Also, CPU is relative to the computer/client, so you can't really compare numbers from other servers if they were taken using a different computer or client.

Top 50 of npcs taken most CPU time:
1. 3.157262172 % Weapon -MoveSystem
2. 0.506094261 % Weapon -Functions
3. 0.357946263 % Weapon TSAdmin/News GUI
4. 0.120031198 % Weapon -Messages
5. 0.052453222 % Weapon -GUI
(after running around unstick me for 60 seconds)

I know :p Wasn't aware that adds to the movement system though.
