My Levels
2 Attachment(s)
What do you guys think of this level (just the outline)
Shall i go on with it or stop right here cuz it's already sucking. If you guys do like it i will makin more levels and post them here. |
It looks basic to my eyes, you could use a lot more tiles and detail it more.
Also... Zodiac's tileset? |

If i forget I had to say i didn't add to much Detail since its just a outline. |
I think you could use the blackspace and fill it with cave tiles. Don't right click though, as it'll look rubbish, but perhaps you could even have corridors and parts you can see but cannot access, it would add to the idea that it's a whole cave system rather than just a circle of rocks in deep space.

The grass looks like you've tried to hard to make it random. I always find it easier to grab 1 square of tile then hold down the mouse button so the tile will apply whenever i move the mouse and just sketch out a rough shape of how you want to the grass/path or whatever to look like then fill in the edges. It's quite hard to explain so I don't know if that will make sense to you.
Anyway, it's a lot quicker and looks a lot better than doing it from imagination. Edit: I didn't want to leave you hanging without a proper explanation of what I said so I knocked up a quick example to better illustrate what I was trying to say. |

It's looking a lot better, and no doubt you would have realised how much quicker it is too.
My only issue with it now is that edges look too straight. A dirt path should be more random and rugged. A good way to achieve that is by never using the same edge tile more than 3 times before changing the direction of the path. Again this is quite hard to explain using words so I'll knock up another example of what I mean. Edit: Both paths follow the same basic pattern but the one of the left has more change in direction. It makes the path look a lot more natural and worn out. I hope this helps. |

It's decent, but it looks too plain.

the grass still looks out of place. This is how i do my grass. try to make it messy like branching off going crazy not too stright. another thing u can do is make a path way in the water an add spots of grass in the dirt ect. You just need to work on how you detail a level an gain grass skills.

what i try to help out but on my phone
|
looks alright....
I understand that it is an outline, but if I were you, I would do what was mentioned in a previous post; get a tile, hold down your mouse, draw your path, and go over it. And for the blackness, the corridors is a very good idea. Make it look like more than just a level, a level is a story and nobody wants to listen to a story that is lacking multiple characters, details, and side stories.

You could just slap the image itself down and make it not block and it would be a quality level. |
lol na no imgs if we do this we wont use pics1 or anything like that cuz foul can just edit a level from zodiac an have u ever work with delt tileset
|
Why exactly are you working with the Delt tileset in the first place?
|
I work with any tileset i work on delt dev a little bit before my computer broke. I enjoy working with different styles, themes of each server.
|
The outlines are pretty good, but when you finish them you should post those too so we can see them with detail
