You know, I'm pretty sure people don't wanna play events at 1-2pm EST.

Try making them later in the day and see what happens.

Make them all in different times... especially if there are many events that day. If you can't make it to that time then you wont be in any event at all :/

I would love to put them later, but 2:00PM EST is 8:00PM GMT (UK). Any later and it's just unfair to them.

It's not like you can't host events at multiple times. Maybe not you, but a Eastern time zone Et should be hired and then he can host events later in the day
